A professional sound at a reasonable Price
I was impressed by the sound and qualiry of the product. for the price. The Module is good for all the basics connections . The only negative is the Module is capable of doing so many extra things but once you get by the basics it is very complicated to understand how to add other funcitions but for what I needed it for it was well worth the price.

This set rocks
This is an excellent set for the money. The quality level is better than most of the sets I used to sell at Guitar Center for twice the price or more. Set is perfect as is for a shorter person or child so I'm going to add some extensions to the four posts to make the heights more what I'm used to. Volume by itself is not really as loud as I would like it, but through and amp it's very loud. Song selection is limited and most not for beginners. I've played for over fifty years and really had to listen etc. to figure out what bizarre patterns they were using on their timings. Overall it's a great set and a lot of fun to play.

Better than I expected
Originally I was going to get the Alesis Surge but due to cost, I opted for this one. I ordered this 8 piece kit to use combined with a smaller one (Alesis Turbo). As far as the drum kits go, the Alesis kit is better built with a nice crinkle finish on its rack. The Lyxjam's rack is just a shiny black finish. The important thing was that both racks were the same 1.5" size to combine them for my frankenstein kit. Now, as far as the drums go, the Lyxjams sounds and drum heads are much better. The cymbals are also of a better quality than the Alesis. Every strike on an Alesis cymbal pad leaves a mark- nothing is left on the Lyxjam cymbals though. Crisp sound too! Using splitters and the two extra add on ports, the entire combined eight drum, six cymbal kit will be controlled by the Lyxjams EDM800 which is comparable in function to the Alesis Nitro's. This means that every pads sound can be changed individually, including the add-on Alesis ones. The Turbos module will no longer be used. I love the Lyxjam EDM800. If I had to do it again, I'd buy the 8 piece AND the smaller seven piece and combine them. Well worth the money- Todd

The drum key is in one of the last boxes you open.
I have a full size five piece drum set and thought this was too small until I started playing. It's perfect for my apartment, not noisy at all. The volume is not that loud with the headset I'm using and when I connect the MP3 though the input again, it's not that loud. It could be louder. The high-hat peddle needs to be set as well. Releases way too high on the peddle. The bass peddle could be louder too. When you put it together, lay everything out and follow step by step. All-in-all, it's a great set up if you're a beginner or want to keep your chops and can't play one your normal set. Knowing what I know, I'd of gotten a more expensive set.

Not a bad kit so far
Good bang for the buck, every component comes in its own little box inside of the big box, so leave room in your recycling bin. Sounds great, good feel to the pads, headphone volume could be louder, but it is fine. Beginner to intermediate, sounds good using external speaker if you want it louder

Great starter kit
I am in my 60s and learning drums for the first time. This kit was easy to set up and is a real pleasure to use with headphones so I don't bother the neighbors. The frame is solid with plenty of joint connectors that all tighten things up well. A little practice and I may be a decent drummer. I do wish they included nylon tip sticks to help protect the mesh heads, but I bought a couple pairs of Zildjian 5a sticks that work great. I would recommend this kit.

Nice for the price
I have played the drums for 35 years, and was looking for a cheap set for my home. Opted for electronic drums simply for volume control and to be able to play along with my daughter while she played the piano. These a great for a cheap set. Have have owned electronic drums with rubber pads and opted to try the mesh pads this time. The mesh pads are “ok” but for electronic drums, I do prefer rubber pads. I feel the mesh pads are a bit more delicate? This set was easy to set up and put together. I like the fact that I can customize where I have the drums vs the cymbals. My previous electronic drum set ai was limited. The frame is a bit cheap, but for what we are going to use the drums for- they are fine. A good buy for a beginner, and good buy for someone just wanting a cheap set.

Great value for the beginner
This set exceeded my expectations. My 10 year old son was able to play this right out of the box and it sounds great. You do need an external speaker to amplify the sound. Also, the set up tool was in the last box we opened instead of the components box. All in all, great fun for the family.

Excellent quality and features for this price range!
There's so much to say about this kit. It exceeded my expectations, to be honest... POSITIVES: + The rack is very solid and also very adjustable. It has an extra crossbar down by the pedal with gives it more stability than some in the price range. + I'm shorter, but this rack can be adjusted for a taller drummer no problem (I had 5 inches left above on all four crossbars) + they give you 2 options for mounting cymbals - on top of the posts or via extra clamps provided on the crossbars + Drum pads are great. Look good, large enough 10" snare and all are double mesh, dual zone with metal head rings! + The drum pads have software adjustments, but also appear to have a hardware adjustment for rim vs head via a small hole under each. However, that's also adjustable software wise in the module. + Cymbals are nice and large. Both have choke (which works well) and have 2 zones bow and rim triggering. The ride does not have bell, though you can program either rim or bow for this. + Bass pedal is great (comes complete with the kit). The pad is rubber vs mesh. I've never had a e-kit with mesh bass pad, so I really can't compare, but it triggers just fine, and is also very adjustable software wise. + Hi-hat is also excellent. Supports "splash" and half-open as well as open/close - again, adjustable software wise (MIDI data puts out a stream of positioning data when pressed and released). + Even though the module looks cheap and a bit cheesy (I think) don't let that fool you! Everything is adjustable, x-talk, volume if each piece, sensitivity, multi band equalizer. It's all good as a previous Roland e-kit I had, and better. + Sounds are very good. Maybe not like a several hundred dollar VST and DAW using a powerful computer, but very acceptable, in my opinion. As mentioned, I play it in public (church worship) and have had good feedback re it's sound. I previously used a kit midi'd to FL Mobile on an iPad. This is just as good if not better. + I found the module's user interface to be user friendly and easy to get adjustments done. + you can add another drum pad and cymbal + Sounds from the module and thru a sound system are clean, no noise etc. Good for live settings. + It has Bluetooth to pair and play along with music from your device though the module (not for MIDI on audio) + Manuals (2, one for setup) are decent as well and easy to understand (see a negative comment tho) NEGATIVES: - I have experienced missed triggers (as mentioned in other reviews) but have resolved those issues as stated below (I play it in public as well, so I'd notice if I did miss triggers!). - the module looks cheap and a bit cheesy, as is the name "LyxJam" (sounds like a toy, but it's not!) - you do need to provide your own throne/stool, tho it came with a pair of wooden A5 sticks - documentation is a bit skimpy for technical info (no MIDI implementation chart) - seems to be no way to backup all settings (MIDI librarian - SYSEX dump). I went thru my main kit and recorded settings in a spreadsheet - VERY tedious! This amounted to almost 100 settings for one kit, plus some general system settings. - ride is two zone (rim and bow) but not the bell. Three zones would have been great, though you can program either zone to be bell. - There are so many settings (a positive too) it can be a bit overwhelming. You do need to be sure you understand what it is you are adjusting! OVERALL (and months later): I am very satisfied with this kit and I'd recommend it to others. I did a ton of research on kits before buying and this kit had the features I wanted for my budget (Alexis Nitro Max was the runner up). I didn't find much in reviews, unfortunately so took a bit of a chance. I'm glad did! I may try to create and post a review on YouTube sometime soon. You can "beat" this one! 😅 TROUBLE SHOOTING 1: So I know why some have had trouble with this kit not triggering. X-Talk is a feature (in edit mode) where you strike a piece until you get an "OK" on the display. I did this for the Hi-Hat and Crash (and maybe the kick drum). However, after doing so, many pieces would no longer play at the same time!! In the main setup you can reset X-TALK. I did this and it put my kit back to normal! I then adjusted sensitivity on pieces to eliminate the cross-talk. Whew!! TROUBLE SHOOTING 2: If you still find this kit missing triggers and you are using internal sounds, be sure you don't have MIDI connected. I use an iPad and even tho I wasn't triggering sounds via MIDI, when the iPad is connected to the MIDI port, I miss snare triggers with hi-hat pedal at times. Unplugging MIDI cleared that up! Reseting or set XTALK didn't effect it.
