ASO Ankle Stabilizer - Lace Up Ankle Brace for Sprained Ankle and Peroneal Tendonitis, Orthopedic Ankle Support for Men, Women, Adults, Teens and Kids, Sports Injury Recovery

As I continue to recover from a bad sprain I’m now using this Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer In oder to allow me to walk while protected and stable, finding them to be comfortable and protective. After my injuries my wife ordered this Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer along with a boot from Amazon to help me heal. In both cases we are very happy with our choices. They arrived the next day thanks for Amazon Prime, and both have worked well for me. A few weeks ago I took a bad hit, spraining my right ankle and nailing my left knee (don’t ask). As I’ve recovered I’ve had to deal with a bruised foot, the sprain, and needing to support one, while not bothering the other. At this point I continue to have swelling in the ankle, deep bruising in the foot and ankle, but the need to get up and around. I’m finding this Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer to be giving me the support I need, but without pain to the deep bruising. Because of the nature of my injuries I’ve been unable to actually put this Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer or my previous boot on by myself. We cannot tell if this is a one person job, but throughout it’s had to be a job I cannot do from my position - so something to keep in mind, but again, it may simply be my injury. The Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer is lightweight and does not hinder my movement. It feels nice as it’s wrapped around the ankle, but again, it’s not hurting nor causing pain across the foot, though I feel protected. I am not wearing socks in these images - as you can see - but these were taken to test the size and take photos for this review. I have since worm them only with socks. While I did not find discomfort wearing no socks, I do feel I’m more comfortable walking with them WITH the socks - as if they give me a little more cushion, but also a feeling of protection. But I THINK I could go without and be fine. * I did wear them around the house that first time without socks for about an hour and I was fine. I like that the ties can be adjusted like a shoe in order to adjust tightness. We’ve worked a few times to get that just right, but it was easy to do and didn’t take too long. I feel the solid, but soft support along the ankle. It keeps me comfortable, but protected. I tried to use them in a pair of slip on casual shoes - the Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer did not fit. I am using them in a pair of older gym shoes - I did not want to risk stretching my main pair of gym shoes - and find that the Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer works well. My wife had to extend out the shoes and could not really tighten it all the way down - meaning the shoes do feel loose on the foot. But at this point I’m still doing limited walking. I think as I can walk more I’ll continue to use the Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer at least another week, and I will have to figure out how to deal with the looser shoe. But as I need to feel protected and strength in the ankle, I’ll deal. In the end I’m very happy with the Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer and will use it as long as I need it. And we’ll keep it around for any... what-if.

I have a history of injuries to my left foot since my teens. Various ankle and foot injuries over the past 20 years, doctors always tell me, "You must really hate your left foot!" Alas, it's been about a year since my last ankle sprain so it was time. About 6 days ago, I Slipped in my driveway from uneven ground and boom. Trying to maximize recovery and minimize downtime, I R.I.C.E'd it and kept off of it as much as possible all week. I wore an ACE deluxe stabilizer for the first couple of days while waiting for the ASO one and what a difference the ASO one made on the first day with it. I went from limited mobility and limping to now having comfortable, secure and firm support for my rolled ankle as I get around my house. It definitely makes an observable difference in my walking. I'm glad I picked this up for my recovery over the next weeks and months. I will be ordering another one to have a backup! Ease of Use: A lot of this product's reviews mention it is too difficult to use. I was able to wrap my ankle in about 5-6 minutes out of the box. Read the instructions first even if you're familiar with using ankle braces and stabilizers. ACE deluxe stabilized is good and one I've used before during previous sprains and recoveries but the ASO is way better in terms of support and security. Sizing: I am a 7.5-8 wide, size 14-16 woman. Ordered a medium. It fit fine around my ankle and foot. The tiny issue I had was the heel had a little bit of excess fabric but when wrapping the straps around my foot, it helped keep the excess in place. Able to wear Puma lows comfortably with the ASO brace. Haven't tried it with any of my high top shoes or boots. Will update my review when I test this brace out with those! Overall, very impressed with security, firmness, price and sizing considering I've used a lot of different dr. prescribed and other brand stabilizers in my lifetime. Kudos to Flexbrace for shipping this out in 2 days! Wasn't expecting it until Friday, came in on Thursday. Ordered it Tuesday! Thanks from a person who will definitely try to show her left foot more love from now on!

Great support brace. Easy tie up and Velcro straps stick well every time.perfect sport. Good compression and can be worn overnight.

Very good. The only negative - it eventually ripped a hole in the back of my shoe...

I have severe pain in my right ankle due to osteoarthritis and loss of the meniscus. The full lace-up feature makes a real difference in setting the level of secure support. The under heel, wrap-around Velcro straps really hold and provide additional support. Finally, the ankle wrap secures everything into a unified whole. I've tried several other ankle supports, and this is the most comfortable and effective.

I’m recovering from a sprained ankle, and I needed added support to accommodate my semi-active lifestyle. I have severe Plantar Fasciitis, which makes it difficult to wear certain products. I tried multiple ankle support devices (ankle support compression sleeves, ankle support bands, and even changed my shoe insoles to aid in stability). Regardless what product I used, they caused excruciating foot pain, because these products would put direct pressure on the Plantar Fascia. I saw this brace, and it appeared the straps didn’t cause direct pressure the Plantar Fascia. I was correct the straps cross over, and go directly under the heel and come up the sides. The brace does cover a portion of the Plantar Fascia, but doesn’t cause constricting pressure. I would say it provides medium support, and allows adequate movement for some sports. I’m a 8.5 mens shoe size, and the (small) fits excellent. The only issue I’ve found, is a calf-sock is needed under the brace to prevent chafing from the seems, and since the straps run under the heal it can be difficult to put in a tight fitting shoe, which will pull the straps out from under the heel, so I loosen up shoe laces to allow for insertion. I ride a hover board, which puts excessive strain on my ankles, and the occasional spontaneous dismount can be tragic for my ankles, so I ordered a second for the other foot out of precaution.

Unfortunately, I’m disappointed with this purchase. I ordered the size according to the size chart provided, but it did not fit correctly at all. On top of that, the product listing clearly stated “30 days free return,” yet I was charged $7 to return it. That was frustrating and misleading. The quality itself is good, but inaccurate sizing information and unexpected return fees make this a poor experience.

I fell and injured my ankle, so I bought this brace. After hobbling around in pain for a couple days, I went to urgent care, where they confirmed I had a Grade 2 ankle sprain. The doctor confirmed this brace was virtually identical to what they’d have given me if I didn’t already have it, so it saved me quite a bit of money. It was perfect to stabilize my ankle as it healed for the next 6 weeks. It still looks like new! It was a big tough to put on those first several days, as it does require you to angle your foot a bit, which isn’t easy with significant swelling and pain, so I had to almost completely undo it each time at first. No big deal. As my swelling went down, I could leave it mostly done up, and just loosen the laces, to slide it on and do up the Velcro straps and go. Be sure to wear it with a normal crew sock, to prevent it from digging in uncomfortably. Oh also, I’m a woman and wear size 6.5 shoes, and I have fairly narrow feet. The XS fit perfectly, even while swelling was present.

Can't use the product. Wanted MEDIUM. Didn't realize you don't have anything bigger than EXTRA SMALL. A waste of time and money.
