KW1 Wireless Subwoofer Adapter Kit, KW1TXRX, Black

I write reviews on items really really awesome or really really NOT awesome. This one from KEF (like the new small kef sub in the pic) is really really awesome. I have the transmitter connected to my sonos amp in a cabinet which is in a closet in a different part of the house. The receiver perfectly connects to kef amp into a special input and can be screwed in so it is secure. The signal is strong and it works flawlessly. Awesome way to go wireless.

If you’re like me, you have members of your family that hate wires. This solution was simple and easy to use and there is NO significant difference in sound quality. It’s great to be able to move the sub around the room to find its best location. It’s a win-win for my house. I keep the sub and the spouse loses the wires.

Get out a magnifying glass to read the instructions for this device and the KEF speakers and stands. Also, it was purchased to connect KEF LS50W speakers with the KEF KC62 subwoofer. Shockingly, the Y cable that comes with the KEF KW1 that is supposed to connect the transmitter to the speakers does not work! The Y cable has two male connectors at the top of the "Y" and a single female connector on the stem, but the problem is that the LS50W speaker requires a male connector at the bottom of the "Y" stem to go into the "Sub" input on the LS50W. How in the world does KEF manufacture and sell a product to work with speakers and a subwoofer that cost nearly $5,000 with the wrong component? Shame on them, and I'm considering returning the purchase due to the stupidity of this manufacturer. I'm appalled that I either now need to purchase an additional component to get the subwoofer to work or go through the hassle of packing everything up (speakers, stands, subwoofer) and lug it back to Whole Foods to return it. But I dislike giving money to incompetent companies, and I'm feeling as if KEF is incompetent. BTW, why doesn't KEF include YouTube videos on its site to provide instructions for those who can't read the miniscule type on their product manuals?

Funciona perfectamente muy estable

Product works fine, does what it is supposed to. That said, I find it very odd that KEF ships a female/two male RCA cable with the product, clearly showing that plugging into their LSX speakers (same as I have). This is not compatible with the LSX speaker, which has a female input labeled "subwoofer", requiring a male/two male RCA splitter. Perhaps someone at KEF should look into that. On that subject - a question - is a splitter really required? I used a single RCA plugged into the red terminal on the transmitter and from there into the subwoofer in on the LSX, and it seems to work fine. KEF, can you respond? I can't see any other way to ask a question.

This product did not work at all for me. Had to return it.

Interferes

I paired my KW1 from Amazon with a KEF KC62. PROS: makes room placement easier and eliminates unsightly cabling. CONS: Pricey $$$. Why isn't the receiver built into the KC62?... attachment seems tenuous, even with two mounting screws. Be careful of where you purchase it from... a KW1 open box unit from another marketplace was defective (intermittent signal causing subwoofer to "thump").

Configurazione semplice e funzionale

Ottimo prodotto, installato fra KEF LS50W e e KEF Kube 12b. Nessun problema rilevato di perdite di segnale o prestazionale. Consiglio l'acquisto!

Pro: Das Kit macht was es soll mit den entsprechenden Subwoofern, das funktioniert prima auch wenn einer von zwei Subs mit dem Kit und der andere mit Kabel arbeitet gibt es keine Verzögerungen bei mir. Hab es an einem KEF Kube 8b und mein KEF Kube 10b arbeitet mit dem Kabel. Verbindung steht sofort (1-2sec) wenn man beides vom Strom getrennt hatte. Top Contra: - Die USB Strombuchse meines 1. Kits ist nicht gut verlötet gewesen, ich hatte das Kabel gerade 3x An/Abgesteckt und plötzlich war die Buchse locker! Ein Blick in den Sender zeigt, Lötstelle gebrochen! USB Stromkabel ist auch sehr starr, was dazu beiträgt. Hab jetzt ein flexibleres von Smartphone dran. Ein guter Freund hat mir den Anschluss wieder ordentlich angelötet, es funktioniert wieder! Das 2. Kit, was ich noch neu habe, wurde aufgeschraubt und siehe da, selbe klapprige Lötstelle wie im 1. Kit. Ich hab dann Heißkleber hinter die USB Buchse gemacht um zu verhindern das es beim Einstecken oder Abziehen wieder bricht. Da sollte unbedingt nachgebessert werden! Also VORSICHTIG STROM ANSTECKEN ! - KEIN Netzstecker, nur "starres" USB Kabel Bis auf die 3 Dinge läuft das Kit problemlos, Preis ist etwas zu hoch, was auch am Namen liegt. Wenn es läuft, funktioniert es sehr gut.
