Will this work on a lionel HO scale track?

If it is HO it should work I assume it comes with a loading platform off to side of track.

Are these logs fixed to the car or can you remove them with a crane?

Mine were not fixed to the car. They were free so you coild remove them with a crane.

Are the couplers compatible with Bachmann or lionel?

They are compatible with HO scale Bachmann couplers and most other brands of magnetic type couplers I use Kadee on a majority of my rolling stock and not have had an issue with them. I don't, however, have any lionel rolling stock so i am not sure
