The genuine product is indeed made in Japan. However, if you buy from HW Suppliers, it will be a fake product. How to tell the difference? Titanium is rigid, lightweight and has a dull shine. The fake product will be matte, leave a strange watermark, smell metallic (from the coating), can bend easily, and the craftsmanship will be poor. An example of the latter will be the edges of the spork will show signs of machining and bending. The embossed print at the back will be uneven and the letters will not be well designed. A simple test will be - can you bend it at light finger strength? If so, its aluminium. If you reside in the USA, i dont know why you would buy from this site. I have serious doubts if any of the products on this site is real. If you look back through the reviews, you will see that there are red flags with discolouration. Snow Peak is a premium brand in Japan - there will not be quality issues. I have contacted Snow Peak USA and they acknowledged it and have noted it. Hopefully they can do something about it. BTW, this means this Amazon site is not run by Snow Peak USA or Japan. Something to think about.... **Q: Where is this spork made?** A: It depends! I bought a grey one from HW Suppliers and it's definitely fake and not titanium and not from Japan. I've returned it and asked for a refund. Titanium is very rigid and very light. If you can bend it with little effort.... it's not titanium.
