Bluetooth Audio Receiver/Amplifier - Model 300 Black

This little product has solved a nagging problem for me! I have a relatively new home, pre-wired for surround sound in my family room as well as two sets of high-end ceiling mounted Polk speakers in my dining room and screened porch. I purchased a relatively expensive Pioneer AV receiver with multi-zone capability, as well as a Monoprice 4-channel speaker selector, allowing me to push thru music from my Directv audio channels to the two sets of ceiling speakers. This worked great, especially at Christmas for holiday background music in the dining room and throughout the year on the porch. However, I switched to DISH in January and the music channels would no longer push thru the receiver. I don't know if it was an analog vs digital signal issue, or a DISH audio setting, but I was never able to figure it out.At the same time, I received an Amazon Echo Dot as a gift, and started listening to it via bluetooth connected JBL Charge speaker on my porch. This was a perfectly fine workaround, but every time I looked up at my ceiling, I saw a great pair of Polk speakers just going to waste. After months of research and trying different things to resolve my issue, I found this little product on Amazon. Set up and connection took less than 10 minutes. I had to pair the Dot via the Alexa app on my phone, but that was simple. I connected the speaker wires into my Monoprice 4-channel speaker selector and immediately got sound on all the speakers, even at the same time if I want! Now I am streaming Pandora from my Amazon Echo Dot and it works absolutely flawlessly!

Very nice little product. I purchased this to run garage-sale outdoor speakers in a challenging environment. The amp is covered from rain and sun but otherwise fully exposed to the elements. It has worked flawlessly for several days now; this morning I measured it functioning at 20F.The amp powers my small speakers reasonably; don't expect this little guy to pump out huge wattage. It is extraordinarily simple in a good way; speaker leads, power connection (it runs off a wall-wart), volume control and a blue LED to indicate a Bluetooth connection. No power switch or anything else to go wrong.The bluetooth functionality is not impressive. The stubby antenna's range is rather limited; in fact, I have set up a stand to hold music players just underneath the amp. I have experimented with alternate antennas without success so far.I'm entirely satisfied with this purchase. Once I coat the connections with CorrosionX to prevent oxidation, I expect this device to serve my family for several years.

My previous review is Bellow........*, However, it didn't last long. I bought the unit Aug 11, 2017. So I probably used it 8 times for speakers on my deck for short periods of time. On top of the very short bt range the unit ran hotter than expected. I used it 3 times this summer so far. The last time I noticed it very hot. Its for background music it's never turned up to max. Well the amp burnt out. Very disappointed... Due to lenght of time not sure I'll get a replacement or refund.______. ..................________*Love it! Works well great sound quality from such a very small device. Solved a problem I'd had not having my wire in place deck speakers working this summer. (changed up my home theater equipment) Now I'm groov'n again! Easy, easy set up.....BT range could be better. My ONLY reason for 4 and not 5 stars is if you get 20' +- with your streaming mobile device the link drops off. But, its all good, very happy still worth every penny!

Caution: To avoid huge sparks, plug the DC power supply first into the amp and then into the wall. Of course i didn't read the manual and I had some fireworks. I thought the unit was fried, it was so bad. They really should improve the DC connector at the amp to avoid this in te future. I have never seen sparks fly when i plug in a lowly 36V power cord!But now to the good part. I have connected the amp to 2 Yamaha NSIW360C 2-Way In-Ceiling speakers with a 20ft run of ~14 gauge cable.Bluetooth:-Easy pairing with iPhone6+ and Samsung 4s.-Range ~60ft through 2 walls or ~40ft through one wall and one ceiling.-When paring is established, amp spits out a loud and annoying pop.-You can only pair one device at a time. I couldn't even pair the second phone until i disconnected the first.Sound:-At mid power levels, prodigious washed out base, overly emphasized and slightly muddy midranges and crisp and clear high frequencies. I have not tested the amp with bookshelf speakers, but i'm pretty sure the washed out lower ranges are due to the ceiling speakers. In fact, i'm impressed by the performance and think this little unit is very capable.-At full volume at amp and phone, distortions are very apparent. Not sure if this is a limit of the amp or the speakers.Other:-Even after 30 min at 75% power, unit is still cool to the touch-Blue LED is super bright. You can use it as a night light ;-)

If you are looking for a quick and easy way to connect your speakers then this is the product. I was only able to achieve about 15 feet distance before the signal to my iPhone6 was disrupted, this is over an open area in my backyard. I was a bit disappointed with the output though, they are not as strong as I hoped so the volume is not very loud. In any case for the price I am satisfied. They do appear to be well built and sturdy. Connection to the unit via bluetooth was quick and easy.After using this item for ~2 days I discovered that the Bluetooth range is about 5 feet. This is in an open area. I literally have to place my iPhone6 next to the receiver to get consistent signal. Anything more than 5 feet get's consistent signal loss.Easy to setup but the low range on Bluetooth is a showstopper. I am returning the item.
