💾 Relive the Past, One Floppy at a Time!
Product Description Review: Easy to use and does the job - I believe it only works with rigid floppy disks in a casing, not the very 1st type that were flexible, which were in use in pre-historic times, around 1990-1995. I am talking about the very first floppy disks, which were actually floppy and of a bigger size, which older users will remember. Otherwise, I have been able to retrieve old WORD documents I was looking for, which were going back to 1997-1999, and was pleased with that. It works fine. It is easy to use. A good buy. Review: Did the Job!! - Arrived within a few days and was well packaged. Plugged it into my Windows 10 PC and it was instantly recognised - no downloads or drivers required. I found that it needed to be plugged into the rear of the PC where the USB port comes directly from the board, the front USB ports did not work - this is due to the rear ports supplying more power to run the floppy drive I believe. When I inserted the floppy disk I was able to navigate to Drive A on the computer and view/copy the files from the disk - easy as that. The only difficulty I found was that in order for the reader to see the next disk when I inserted it I had to first unplug and plug back in the reader - I did that for every disk and successfully copied about 25 disks. I'm very pleased with this product.

Easy to use, and worked on Windows 10
Easy to use, installed and worked - BUT did keep having to unplug it and replug it in, between each disk to get my computer to recognise a new floppy disk and not just overwrite it with the previous disk's then corrupted files! But read the files good, and copied off what I needed. On Win 10.

Failed to write floppy disks, dreadful sound, eject button sticks
I was very disappointed with this device having read the other reviews. The device was well packaged and initially looked to be of good quality. I connected it to my Windows 10 desktop and it was immediately detected with no drivers required. However when I tried to write a floppy disk using WinImage it failed during the verify process - i.e. it failed to verify a disk that it had written itself! This happened multiple times so it wasn't a problem with a single floppy disk. In the end I returned it and purchase an alternative model from a different vendor which has worked perfectly. Avoid.

Amiga Drawbridge Compatibile
I bought this drive because it was recommended on the Rob Smith Tech DrawBridge discord. It is one of the USB drives that has a ribbon connector internally that allows the Amiga Drawbridge adapter to be installed. The case is quite tricky to get apart to make the installation of the new board, but once completed the drive worked flawlessly. Finally I can read and write Amiga floppy disks on my PC.

Does the job without flaw under Windows 10
I am rather baffled by those who say that they have had problems with this drive. I just plugged it in, dug out an old 3.5" 1.44MB disk and was able to read it and copy over files without a hitch. I suspect, in fairness to the suppliers, that this is one of those areas where it is easy to blame the reader rather than the disk(s) to be read. The medium is not perfect for archival, and therefore the message about the product itself might get garbled. That garbled message in the reviews caused me to hesitate for some time before I purchased. I need not have worried. It is a TEAC drive which means from a reputable manufacturer.

Flimsy
Bought to convert to an Amiga disk compatible drive for use with Drawbridge. It worked for that purpose. The housing is incredibly flimsy, like a cheap plastic party favour. The mechanism is stiff and doesn't cleanly lock disks every time. It works, but does not seem durable at all.

Excellent product
As a computer user since before the advent of the PC I still have access to stuff on floppy discs. I can't say that I use this often, but it comes in handy once in a while.

Non fonctionnel
Présente bien, boitier et câble semblent plutôt qualitatifs. Mais testé sur 3 PC… 1° HP / Windows 7 Fam. 64b = 1 disq. / 12 lue après plusieurs relances ; 2° HP / Wind. 7 Pro = 1 disq. / 3 lue après plusieurs relances 3° PC W. XP = mêmes problèmes… Indique souvent "à formater" mais aucun possible… > Retour…

Works on Windows 11
Bought it for the use of transferring pictures taken on an older camera with floppy disks to my computer. I have a HP computer with Windows 11 and it works like a charm. Did not have to download anything: as soon as you plug it in, it works.
