Nothing deterred her; neither spraying her with water or spraying two different kinds of cat deterrent sprays on the carpet. I needed something so I thought I would try this. These plastic sheets are the only thing that have saved my carpeting. She doesn't knead the carpets in the bedrooms and I don't have a problem with her ruining the furniture.Each stair needs three sheets. The backs have adhesive so each sheet, when overlapped, sticks to the prior one that was laid down. The tacks are easy to use. They are corkscrew so you stick the end in and turn it until it is fully inserted. I don't know how long I will need to keep these in place.
