The DM-1 itself, however, is a different story: I cleans up my mixer's garbage preamps pretty nicely, and the 28db of gain it provides is absolutely neccessary for very quiet mics like the Shure SM7B or SE Electronics V7, especially if you're using a cheap mixer or interface, or if you're even simply using a really long XLR Cable. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ THIS IS WHAT YOU HAVE NEEDED. *by J***E on May 24, 2021* For years I have been struggling with getting my vocals to sound right and not have to amplify which makes the background buzz or noises louder.
