A: The surface is smooth. It isn't shiny though.

**Q: Is this table good for sewing**
A: It would depend on the machine.  I wouldn’t put my epic 2 on it but it works great for lighter machines.  I teach girls to sew so I have one on each end and me in the middle.  It works pretty good for now

A: Hey there, if you are measuring the inside of the legs from leg to leg you are looking at @ 54" then from the outside of the leg to the end of the table you are looking at @ 8" on each side for a total of 72"
