Protimeter BLD5365 Surveymaster Moisture Meter

Absolutely the best moisture meter you could ask for! does everything you need, super easy to use. The battery life lasts longer than you would expect. Definitely gives you the professional look for my home inspections. The only downside is the cap falls off fairly easy. Other than that, I have no complaints at all!

As a public insurance adjuster I inspect properties daily for water intrusion. I debated a long time over which dual-function meter to get or whether to get an invasive and non-invasive one. In the end, I took the plunge and I don't regret it. Unlike the inferior and less expensive ones, I don't have to put it on masonry, wood or drywall settings, it reads everything and goes 3/4" below the surface. I've been able to find moisture behind ceramic tiles which I could never do with less expensive items. And the pin feature with options is great. I highly recommend this.

Protometer is just a solid tool so 5 star to them, but the real 5 star goes to Inspector Tools for handling the order promptly! It was a couple dollars more but ordered on the 17th and delivered on the 20th, 3 day shipping! Way to go Inspector Tools! It was like pre covid. I take my job seriously, I'm glad you do to!

This moisture meter has helped me greatly in my inspection jobs, locating moisture issues, especially using the probes. I couldn’t have accomplished this with my General moisture meters. I still use my General meter for around toilets. This meter allows me to find moisture in walls and small holes to verify moisture hidden beneath the surface.

This is a great product, but it’s just too expensive. I use mine frequently so the risk of damage is high. Also, I keep mine on my tool belt all day and the cap comes off OFTEN! When the cap comes off, the prongs are exposed and they’re very sharp. I’ve drawn blood multiple times.

I’ve held off reviewing until I’d had and used this bit of kit for a while. It’s really good quality and very easy to use. It comes with some long probes for checking deep into walls and it’s got me out of a few sticking situations when I’ve been told by a customer there concrete slab is dry but turned out to be nonsense and I could prove the moisture content of the floor. It’s well worth the investment and I reckon it’s paid for itself already.
