## Description

The Farberware 8 Inch Chef Knife with Edgekeeper Self-Sharpening Sheath brings together a century of trusted kitchen craftsmanship with a genuinely innovative approach to knife care and storage. Whether you are a home cook tackling weeknight dinners or someone who spends serious time on meal prep, this chef knife is designed to perform reliably every single time you reach for it. At the heart of this knife is the Edgekeeper sheath — a protective sleeve with a built-in ceramic sharpening mechanism that hones the blade automatically every time you slide the knife in or out. That means you never have to remember to sharpen your knife separately or hunt down a standalone knife sharpener. The edge stays consistently sharp, which translates directly into safer, smoother, and more efficient cutting. A sharp blade requires less force and gives you more control over your cutting board work, whether you are slicing tomatoes, breaking down a whole chicken, or finely mincing garlic and herbs. The blade itself is crafted from high-carbon stainless steel and forged for strength and precision. Forging — as opposed to stamping — creates a denser, stronger blade that holds its edge longer and offers superior balance from tip to heel. The 8 inch length is the most versatile size in any knife set, long enough to handle large cuts of meat or big vegetables, yet maneuverable enough for detailed work. The triple rivet handle is where comfort meets durability. Three solid rivets anchor the full-tang blade securely into the handle, providing stability and a balanced feel that serious cooks appreciate. The ergonomic design fits naturally in the hand, reducing fatigue during longer prep sessions. Whether you are dicing onions for a slow cooker recipe, slicing proteins for a cast iron skillet, or prepping ingredients for a food processor, this handle gives you the grip and confidence to work efficiently. The Edgekeeper sheath also doubles as a smart storage solution. Instead of leaving your knife loose in a drawer — where the edge can be damaged and where reaching in can be dangerous — the sheath keeps the blade protected and ready. It is a thoughtful detail that extends the life of the knife and keeps your kitchen organized. Farberware has been a trusted name in kitchenware for over 100 years, and this chef knife reflects that legacy. Built for value, durability, and everyday reliability, it is the kind of kitchen tool that earns a permanent place on your counter. Hand wash only to maintain the blade's integrity and the handle's finish. If you are building out your kitchen utensils set, looking for a reliable knife set addition, or simply want a high-performing chef knife with built-in sharpening technology, the Farberware Edgekeeper 8 Inch Chef Knife is a confident, capable choice.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is this a rocking knife?**
A: I'm no chef, so not entirely sure what the criteria is for a knife to be 'rocking'. But, in prepping food, I can wobble the knife easily to get a finer chop. The blade is nicely curved towards the tip, but not towards the handle.

**Q: Is it full tang?**
A: Yes it is. The pictures are accurate.

**Q: I bought this and have lost the sleeve somewhere. Can I purchase just the sharpening sleeve?**
A: I would check with the company or Google for just the sleeve.
