More consistent airflow than the stock
Installed this on a Kobold 4 gal that had a bad regulator. Of course I had to replace all of the 1/4" pipe since the stock is integrated, but I've found that the airflow is more consistent than the stock. This is mainly used for airbrushing so consistent air pressure is a big help.

A very good solid feeling regulator.
I bought the regulator for use with my air brush. I paint model railroad cars. In the initial test, I connected it to my air compressor which had 80 PSI. The regulator dropped the pressure down to 25 to 30 PSI very nicely. The regulator uses standard 1/4 inch brass or steel fittings. I got mine at Lowes. It has a very sturdy aluminum body. The connectors turned in very smooth. Just be careful to use Teflon tape and don't over tighten.

Shut off valve useless!
If you are looking for improved performance for your compressor such as higher flow, forget it. The ID is restricted to low air flow on the shutoff valve and regulator. I need high flow air to drive a 1/2" impact. This regulator set up is only a restriction. Recommend 1/2" regulator with reducers.
