## Description

TotalBoat Thixo Flex is a thickened flexible epoxy adhesive that makes it easier than ever to create permanent, waterproof structural bonds on boat parts and other items that are prone to flexing due to changes in temperature, humidity, and stress loads. Now with just ONE product, you can bond many different types of materials, including wood (either dry or damp), metals, fiberglass, glass, ceramics, and some plastics.Because Thixo Flex is more flexible than traditional epoxy resins and stronger than conventional 1-part urethane sealants it’s ideal for building or repairing wooden boats that are prone to flexing. It’s also easier to use than other 2-part thickened flexible epoxy adhesives because there’s no measuring or mixing—resin and hardener are contained in an easy-to- use cartridge that fits any standard caulk gun (sold separately). Just attach a static mixing tip (included) and insert the cartridge into the caulk gun. When you squeeze the handle on the caulk gun, the two parts are mixed automatically and thoroughly. It’s that easy to get the exact ratio and achieve a reliable cure every time.Two-part, non-sagging Thixo Flex is pre-thickened so it stays in place on vertical or overhead surfaces, yet is easy to spread. It can be used at temperatures as low as 40°F. At 72°F, Gel Time is 40 minutes, Working Time is 75 minutes, Sandable Cure Time is 7-10 hours, & Cure Time for High Loads is 24. Review: Works great - This product worked great to fix my "Catilina Smile." After grinding out the crack and scraping out the old epoxy that has failed I injected this into the crack. We'll see in the fall if it holds up but this was easy to use and set up well.

Cotton caulking was not an option given narrow seams. Standard epoxies would tend to flow out of the seam and down the hull. Thixo Flex Adhesive fit the bill perfectly. Using a battery powered calking gun it was relatively easy to fill each seam and compress the material into the seam with a putty knife. Excess epoxy was simply scraped off and forced into seams not yet filled. It is expensive but the time saved and the quality of the completed job made it worthwhile. Looking at the finished product, the quality of the filled seams; I really don't expect to have to treat these seams again for a decade at the minimum. Thixo Flex flexible epoxy adhesive is seriously good stuff when working with hull planking under a few inches in width.

**Q: Is each tip one time use, or can it be removed and stored to be used later?**
A: One time.  You don't have to use tip.  Just squirt into container and mix it with stick or nail.

**Q: can you paint over this? or apply gel coat?**
A: Yes, you can fair it, gel coat, barrier coat and anti fouling. It’s just epoxy, but a bit flexible.

**Q: What COLOR is this product?**
A: i believe its a clear honey color

**Q: Will this stick to textured soft vinyl?**
A: “Will it stick” is a very hard question to answer.  The answer I’m sure is “yes” BUT the real question is “Will it hold”.   I would hesitate to use this product for application with vinyl.  I don’t know your specific goal, but I was thinking maybe wood to vinyl. If so, I wouldn’t think twice about a good 5min epoxy that clearly specifys “wood” and “vinyl” as applications.  This product works incredible for wood applications, but I can’t swear to it for vinyl.  My best guess it that the chemical properties aren’t flexible enough for vinyl and it would crack. ### ⭐ Mixing Nozzle Disaster

I bought this product after seeing much success from the brand from various YouTube sources. I still have confidence in the brand but had issues with this product. While I am sure the product would have done exactly what I needed it to, I couldn't use it. The plastic mixing nozzle that comes with this product and screws on is, in my opinion, a terrible design. Unfortunately, it is necessary to mix the two components together. No matter how many times I tried and as slow as tried I couldn't get the nozzle to screw down more than two to three threads before getting cross threaded. I was hoping that two or three was enough, it was not. The nozzle blew out after about two squeezes and rendered the tube useless. I tried 5 other nozzles (from the other 2 tubes i bought) with the same cross-thread issue. Unfortunately, I missed the window to return (totally my fault) the 2 unopened tubes, so I am stuck with $80 worth of, what I imagine is great product, that I can't use.
