First, it is big. I like it that way. It has a solid hook that slides behind the ear and holds it tight. Most of the other headsets I have tried "dangle" from the ear. They feel like they are ready to blow away with the next wind gust. Not this headset. Although it is big, after a minute or so, you won't know its there, so if it is long term talking you'll be doing, it will not become heavy or hurt your ear.The volume control is excellent and it has plenty of power to cut through the noisiest of environments. I have had no complaints from the people I talk with as to the quality of sound.A much touted feature of the BT800 is the backlit lcd screen that can display the caller ID (just the number, not the name from your phone's address book). It also displays setup information and previous caller list. The problem is the screen is very small. If you don't have eagle eyes, you most likely will not be able to read the display while you are occupied doing other things, like driving. This is a real problem in poor lighting conditions. In bright light, the chances of reading the screen are pretty much zero.I have had no battery issues with the headset. If you are going to use the BT800 with a Razr, I guarantee the phone will be dead long before the headset. You will NOT get a full day on the Razr if you use a bluetooth headset for most of the day, but that's another story.The problems this headset have for me are operational. While it connects easily, the hands free profile (initiate a call, end a call, etc.) is simply not consistent. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. It gets lost.The headset gets into states that are simply not recoverable without powering the unit off and/or reconnecting to your phone. For me, this happens on two different cell phones and a PC, so it is not exclusively a Razr/BT800 incompatibility issue. It has been updated with the latest firmware downloaded from the Jabra web site.When it works, it works well, when it doesn't you want to throw it through your car window. Ironically, its big enough to do some damage.To sum it up, the BT800 is the battleship of headsets. Lots of horsepower, looks nice and is ergonomically very well designed.The screen is too small to see, especially while you're driving.The operation is sporadic for me. I use a Razr and 2125 Cingular Smartphone. I also use it for Skype calls on my Notebook PC.I think the BT800 needs another software update. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great features, nice sound....not so good of a microphone *by J***R on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on September 7, 2005* As a purchaser for a corporation I have used numerous different bluetooth headsets out there "testing" them for our executives or getting them back with complaints from executives. This is one of those headsets that "makes the cut" for our guys. The sound quality of the person you are speaking to is fantastic, you can understand every word they say. The features on it (particularly the dialing features with the headset and the caller id) are great. It feels comfortable on your ear (even though it weighs a little more than some out there)...everything about it is fantastic except the microphone and the range. Range on this headset is about 10 feet...after that you lose the signal. The microphone makes you sound very digital. People had trouble understanding me at times and none of my voice-dials worked with this headset. Overall, it is a good headset regardless of the problems...but for pure functionality I would suggest the logitech freedom headset, it has a better microphone and speaker and far better range (up to 30-40 feet). ### ⭐⭐⭐ Could be a little better *by R***R on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on April 2, 2005* I bought this head set believing that everything was pretty accurate. Well I believe I made a mistake, the talk time is only about 2 hours and the standby time isn't as long as they claim. The caller ID is pretty cool; however, I am yet to really use it. Then it will take some getting use to in your ear, the first couple of days my ear was sore from wearing it. The quality of sound is pretty impressive, and the distance I was able to get was about 50ft. I noticed that sometimes it would disconnect from my phone and then I would have to reconnect, gets a little annoying. One feature I do really enjoy is that it allows you to chose your ringers, either the ringers from your phone or one of the programmed ringers, along with the vibrate option.
