Peace of mind, better mpg, and smoother driving!
No more AFM crap! This completely takes care of the awkward transmission shifts, clunks in the driveshaft when AFM activates, and gives some peace of mind that the cam phasers aren’t going to malfunction in 4 cylinder mode. And this is a lot cheaper than a full camshaft replacement and AFM delete! I’m also getting about 2 more mpg.

Range Technology AFM / 5.3L Tahoe with the heavy-duty towing package
Purchased this Range Technology AFM disabler for a Tahoe with 5.3L V8. My Tahoe would drop into the 4 Cylinder mode often, very annoying. I have never gotten used to the hesitation when the engine shifts back into the V8 mode in response to my attempt to accelerate, especially from a dead stop. When driving in normal traffic situations the 5.3L FMS constantly put the engine in and out of V8 to V4 and back distracting from the driving experience. Freeway driving was another area where the 5.3L FMS would drop the engine into V4 when my foot came off the pedal or while coasting which is especially annoying while towing a 6500 lbs. RV or when attempting to pass another vehicle. Installing the Range Technology Disabler has solved these problems and I have noticed the vehicle drives much smother. Yes, it cost more than the knockoffs, but I believe it's worth it. My first AFM disabler was a top-rated knockoff brand, cheaper for sure, but I found it didn't work as I thought it should have, it kept the Tahoe's 5.3L in V8 mode but something was missing, it wasn't smooth running like I experience with Range Technology FMS disabler also there was no way to see the lights on the disabler as they were partially covered with the wrap. Remember the old saying "You Only Get What You Pay For" applies here. I am pleasantly surprised with the build quality, ease of installation and the function of the Range Technology device. Only thing I don't like, nothing in the instructions give you a clear understanding of what ALL the light functions indicates but you can go to Range Technology's web site. Also, I have had no issues with the truck's battery SOC and I have seen a slight increase in fuel economy. I do recommend this device.

Good money spent!
Cannot say enough good stuff about this. Use it in both my 2LT Stingray and my 3LZ Z06/Z07. Great product. Performs as advertised. Both cars benefit from staying out of V4 mode.

Working great Chevy Silverado 2010
Used for about 2 weeks.Works as advertised. 2010 Chevy Silverado now runs as V8 at all times , Truck seems to run smother at all times especially noticeable from standing start . Not sure about any changes in MPG. IMPORTANT I take the device out of the OBD port when I am not using the truck as it can drain the battery if left sitting for only a few days only takes 15 seconds to plug unit in when I use the truck

No More GM 5.3 L Engine Damage AFM Worries
After learning that the GM engines that operate with a Automatic Fuel Management System, which automatically changes the engine from running from V8 down to a V4 while driving to save fuel, has over a decade history of this causing the lifters to wear out and stick, also destroys the engine, that results in a $7K-$10K REPAIR BILL, I decided to prevent that from happening to ME. Yes, there are less expensive AFM/DFM Disablers available, but the Range Technology Unit is at the Top of them all. Installation took me maybe 10 SECONDS. Just plug it in,with the engine OFF, start the engine and drive. After installing this device, the engine runs on V8 power at all times. My 5.3 L GM engine has all of the power restored, shifts much smoother and quicker and has put the pep back into my truck ! It also gives me a great peace of mind knowing that I won't be stuck with the expense of a engine damage repair bill ! So glad I did the research.

Seems to work in my truck
I put this in a 2015 GMC Sierra Denali 5.3 Liter and it indeed runs on 8 cylinders continuously. I use 93 octane gas and get around 17 city and 20-21 highway. I don’t notice battery drain that inhibits starting after being parked for 4-5 days.

It’s a simply plug and play device and, so far, is doing what it’s supposed to do.
I just received Range Technology AFM/DFM disabler and have only driven a couple of times. So far it’s doing what it’s supposed to do but, the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because I haven’t used it long enough to see what problems might come up. I will update sometime down the road. I did a lot of research before ordering this and Range Technology had the biggest pluses. I do know that I don’t get that little hesitation when the truck shifts back and forth between 4 and 8 cylinders which was a lot as I live in the rolling plains of south central Texas. I got this unit because of problems I’m seeing all over the internet about AFM systems and the problems that occur after 100,000 miles. I have a 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500 with a 5.3L V8 that I’ve, last year, already had to replace the transmission and I’ve kept up with regular maintenance. My truck’s engine is still running well at 97,000+ mileage and I wanted to head off any problems before they happen. The only problem I’m having with this is that it plugs into the OBD-II port that my AMP Research power running boards plug into so it’s a constant switch back and forth between devices and as noted on the unit box. So, with that being said, I’ve just placed an order for AMP Research OBD-II splitter so I can leave my power running boards plugged in. Also, it will deplete your vehicle’s battery if left plugged in if you don’t drive you vehicle for long periods. Lately, I only drive once or twice a week and have had to unplug my running boards also because of battery depletion.

Good Quality and it Works!
So easy to install. I found that my 09 Chevy Silverado pickup with the 5.3 motor runs more smoothly with this afm disabler. No hesitation and just runs like a V-8 should. I had heard that you might get 1or 2 miles to the gallon lower but I checked my mpg and I don't think it changed from after installing this afm disabler. Well worth the money and I haven't had a bit of problems with it. Just drive right and change your oil and your motor should last a long time. Buy this one and not the cheap ones to save you money. The old saying is you get what you pay for!

Awesome product
2022 Silverado pre-refresh, RPO codes L84 (5.3L V8) and MQE (8-speed transmission). Pre-refresh means Global A architecture and compatibility with the Range RA003, whereas trucks after that ("2022.5" and after) have Global B architecture and require the RA007. Range Pulsar LT can be used on just about any but it's more expensive. Lots of youtube content on all these devices. What a difference. It's like a different truck. Even in L7, which is supposed to disable DFM, the drive was clunky. Much nicer with this device, and the auto-stop is fully disabled with it installed regardless of the dash button. GM removed the display to show which cylinder mode you are in but based on the improved drive and the auto-stop, it certainly seems to be working and worth the money. I did also buy an OBD2 splitter so I can use a reader at the same time, and so that if I unplug this RA003 frequently I am not wearing out the factory connection.

Range RA003B, excellent product
I am in Australia. Ordered through Amazon. I read as many reviews I could find. Used in the Chev 1500 Silverado for a week or so and found it to be as advertised. Can't fault it at this time.
