Awesome Mat!!!
The mat is sturdy with a soft layer of silicone (or rubber) on the bottom so it doesn't slip around on the table. It holds the get-it-straight laser tool nice and sturdy in sunken ridges and allows for the tool to be easily lifted out if it gets in the way. The surface is magnetized and comes with 4 powerful magnets to hold the project in place and makes placement of items easy. I think it's a great mat even for someone who doesn't also buy the laser tool. I have two small issues if I must speak of a downside: 1) the trademark labeling is printed on working areas of the mat: MULTI - MAT (2 5/8" x 1/2") and KELLY CRAFT (3 3/4" x 3/4"), and 2) No vertical line drawn at true zero, so I added a thin strip of painter's tape to designate true zero. Before adding the tape, I would butt the edge of my paper against the laser tool and then slide it over to the left a tad to line it up with the 12" mark on the mat. Both issues can be worked around, and overall I'm happy with it both tools.
