The filter combined with some non-chlorine oxidizer keeps my tub clean and balanced. For years I used standard filters which I cleaned and rotated 1x per quarter. Unfortunately, the chemicals used to clean the filter also upset the PH of my tub. With this filter I just swap it with a new one every 3-4 months and my PH stays perfect all the time.
