Why can’t i get the herb storage side to open?

Yes it opens. It’s is very snug right out of the box and will take effort/time to remove but after some use gets broken in.

They are plastic as well. It’s all very hard and durrable. Best grinder I have ever owned. Perfect for fine grinding.
