Use the guide rails and enjoy the cleaner air.
Fits perfectly, I can already tell the air smells better and is better filtered than the one that was in it already. The price was good for what it is, but there are cheaper options. I opted to go for this one because it was mid range and had the activated carbon in it. If you haven't replaced one in a mini before, the door is under the glove box, and the filter slides into some curved rails to guide it into place. The previous owner of my car didn't see the tiny guide rails because it was just shoved in.

if your sneexing getting headaches or just a bad oder you might want to change your cabin filter
went in like it was suppose to I used a vaccum to get the leaves out as it came out and dust mine I think had ever been changed tooka drive and my air flow was amazing and smelled fresh well worth the money easy to replace change when ever you have an oder in your car just replace

Better Than the Stock One IMO
The stock filter on my 2012 Countryman was completely trashed and this replacement actually seemed higher quality and better built. Installing this despite how Mini designed the filter housing was not difficult. This eliminated the funky smells I'd get before I replaced it. I also use this brand for my Honda and I've never had an issue. Would recommend! P.S. Before I forget! Arrows pointing down on the Countryman.

Fits perfectly and saved my lots of $$$$
A mechanic shop wanted to charge me $115 to replace this filter because they claimed it's difficult to access and replace. It is not at all difficult to replace and instead, I purchased this filter which fits perfectly and easily for just a little over $12 and less than 5 minutes of my time. I will certainly purchase this filter once again when needed in the future.

5 minute install. No tools!
You just have to pop the plastic cover off in the passenger footwell on the R53 Mini and pull the old one out and push the new one in through the curved tracks on each side. 5 minutes later I’m breathing fresher air. If you go to dealers or oil change shops they want to be replacing cabin air filters every six months - so they can charge you an extra $50. Just say ‘no’. These last 2 years or more.
