Having decided to get a BR writer for my PC I decided on this one in terms of both brand and value for money. Easy to install and recognised automatically by the Windows Operating System. I had no problem or errors writing to both 50GB and 25GB BR blank discs (writing a full 50GB image to disc took just over 30 mins). I'm also in the process of ripping my CD collection for a NAS and this has performed flawlessly and is fast (under 2 mins for a CD). Very happy with the outcome. Looks wise it it is a fairly standard and pretty unexciting and there are better looking but more expensive options out there if that matters to you.

good piece of kit some of software a bit limitiming,but works!

I bought the "Software Included Bulk Version" (£80.99 at time of purchase) but they sent me the "Software Not Included" version (£62) so i got in touch with Amazon customer support through the webchat service, and they refunded me the difference, so i'm very happy with that. Thanks again Amazon! The drive arrived in the plain brown Amazon shipping box in an open bag with some padding. The drive looked new and didn't display any signs of prior use at all, and of course the drive works as intended and also works better than ever now that i downgraded the firmware from 1.04 to WH16NS60 1.02MK. On another note, i think it is absolutely disgusting that viewing 4K UHD movies is locked to the Intel platform to start with, and that i had to go out of my way to get a drive AND firmware to enable the drive so that it can be 'used' to 'watch' them. When you first try to run a 4K UHD in the CyberLink player, you will be presented with an error telling you to "install SGX PSW" and when you download it and try to install it, you're met with yet another error, that it cannot be installed because you're on the wrong platform! So, in order to watch your 4K UHD discs on PC, that you bought, the big wigs in the movie business, you know, the big brained woke ones, came up with a novel DRM idea of trying to get you to buy an very expensive Intel based system! LOL No. Just buy one of these drives, or any of the others on the 'friendly drive' list, and downgrade your firmware and use something like DVDfab or MakeMKV to be able to watch your 4K UHD movies! It's YOUR disc, you bought it, you should be able to watch it from the disc on your AMD based system!.

I bought this to play & rip my blu-rays, I wanted to be able to rip my UHD Blu-Rays too & after flashing the firmware it can now Play/RIP UHD content too. (all my physical media Exc. games are now backed up so I'm pretty happy) Since buying this I have had no issues ripping bluerays, everything works as it should. I also ripped some soundtrack CDs so it has no issues playing CD, DVD, Blu-Ray or UHD Blu-Ray

Arrived in a plain box marked as Drive + SW. The drive was there but no software and no cables. These were clearly visibly in the pictures in the Amazon description. I used some spare cables that I had kept and installed the drive. It was detected my Win 10 with no trouble. U got around the no software issue by, I downloading the latest copy of VLC together with two DLLs that are needed for VLC to play Blu-Ray discs. 1.) KEYDB.cfg which is copied to windows drive, in my case "C:\", to "C:\ProgramData\aacs". 2.) libaacs.dll which is copied into the VLC directory in my case "C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC". After a reboot I was able to play Pirates of the Caribbean but without the disc menu functionality. This is not ideal and I'm not happy but at least it works and I can continue with my Desktop rebuild. I hope the above helps, buyer beware.

Great bit of kit

This is a review for the Blu-Ray internal Drive for PC, bulk packaging with sofware. All I require is the ability to play Blu-Ray discs on my computer, without spending too much money. This package beats a lot of others, because it includes the software required for Blu-Ray, specifically Cyberlink Media Suite 15. I'm not bothered about the latest version, as long as it works. On installation, I only installed the PowerDVD software and ignored all options to update various things. Inside the box, is the 5.25" player, screws, software disc, sata to molex adapter and a sata cable. It worked without any problems, so now I can enjoy my Star Trek Next Generation box set 'til kingdom come.

Bra pris och bra prestanda, vad mer behöver man?

Acheté ce lecteur il y a 3 ans pour une config PC. Je n’ai utilisé que des DVD depuis. Je mets pour la première fois un disque blue-ray et me rends compte qu’il ne détecte pas les disques blu-ray (no disc error). Il semble que la lentille laser blu-ray est morte sans avoir même été utilisée…

Tras muchos años con uno similar también de LG, compré otro de otra marca aparentemente mas moderno y caro, y lo tuve que devolver por los destrozos de discos. Debí quedarme con lo que sé que funciona, y por eso volví a comprar este modelo. Muchos cientos de discos grabados apenas sin fallos con esta marca me han convencido de que lo adecuado es mantenerse con lo conocido. Esta nueva unidad me está dando el mismo buen resultado y es la que recomiendo. En mi caso la instalé en una caja de conversión a grabadora externa, y va como la seda. Llevo ya varios discos grabados con cero fallos. No es el grabador mas rápido, pero sí el mas fiable. Para mi la mejor grabadora de Bluray es esta y los modelos similares de la misma marca.
