The Lutron Maestro LED+ Dimmer Switch is a versatile, easy-to-install digital dimmer compatible with dimmable LED, CFL, halogen, and incandescent bulbs up to 150W. It offers over 250 dimming levels, flicker-free performance tested on thousands of bulbs, and supports multi-location control for up to 10 switches. Featuring patented technology for optimized dimming and a soft locator glow, it’s designed for seamless integration into any modern home lighting setup.

## Description

Bring technology and style to your home with the Lutron Maestro LED+ Dimmer, the first digital dimmer that is compatible with all of today's bulb types dimmable CFL and LED, halogen, and incandescent. This digital dimmer gradually turns lights on and off, allowing your eyes to adjust to the new light level. LED's display the light level and glow softly in the dark, acting as a locator light so you can easily find the control in the dark. Use the rocker to adjust the light level for any activity or set the preset level to ensure lights always turn on to your desired light level. Advanced features include delayed fade to off, which allows time to exit a room or to get into bed before the lights turn off. Installing the Maestro LED+ is simple and quick, and is perfect for any room in the home. It also coordinates with the entire Maestro family of controls including dimmers, switches, occupancy sensors, and more. Coordinating Claro wall plate is not included.

Review: Good switch for LEDs with great instructions! - I purchased this Lutron Maestro switch as a substitute for the Lutron DIVA I tried previously. I replaced the bulbs in my track lighting fixture (http://amzn.com/B005D86XBE ) with LED bulbs (http://amzn.com/B00LGZCVSW ) and found that with the DIVA, there was still noticeable flickering no matter how I adjusted the dimmer low limit. This Maestro switch solved that. PROS: ~ As with the DIVA, the MAESTRO switch came with EXCELLENT instructions. I really mean excellent. Lutron includes clear pictures, good descriptions, and enough information for even a DIY customer to install the switch themselves. ~ They also include extras like 3 wire nuts and the small jumper cable you might need depending on your switch layouts. ~ Functionally this switch works perfectly. I can dim the GU10 LEDs down to a pretty low level without any flicker. To accomplish this, I had to follow the directions and adjust the minimum dimmer level higher until the flicker went away. Even with the adjustment, the lowest level is still pretty low. ~ Lights fade in and out. This is also adjustable, which means in total, you can adjust the high and low dimmer limits as well as the time it takes for the lights to fade in and out. Personally, I don't need much adjustment there, but if you are picky, you have options. Better to have them and not need them! ~ Comes with the push in style wiring. I choose NOT to use the push in connectors because I think they tend to loosen over time and that might lead to an arc or worse. Most good electricians will opt to use the screw terminals over the push in connectors for that exact reason. Its your choice, but I picked the confidence of the screw terminals. CONS: ~ The only thing I can say against this switch is that, like the DIVA, it requires a deeper gang box. Its similar to the size of an old GFCI outlet and so you just need to account for that. It will be a reeeeaaalll tight squeeze if you are trying to stuff this into a shallower remodel box. EXTRA: ~ For me this isn't a PRO or a CON, so it went here. The maestro switches use momentary buttons instead of a toggle or rocker switch. The momentary button does have a nice confident click and the nice a thing is you can click the top or the bottom of the switch and will still turn the lights ON if they are OFF or vice versa if they are already ON. Basically all you need to do is slap any part of the switch and it will do what its supposed to. ~ If you are going to wire this switch as a three way using a regular mechanical switch as the other switch, you need to make sure you read all the way through the directions and rewire the mechanical switch as indicated. If you fail to do this, the three way circuit behaves very strangely due to the electronics in the Maestro switch. SUMMARY: If you are doing any remodeling or installation with LED lighting, this is a good switch to try out. Since it costs roughly the same as the DIVA you can decide which style of switch you like better, a rocker or a momentary with fade. I think its personal taste unless you run into a situation like me, where the DIVA switch wasn't functioning properly and so you might need to try this Maestro.
Review: The Best LED Dimmers! - This is an honest review of the Lutron Maestro LED Dimmer switch that I have purchased and installed in multiple locations throughout my home. Pros: These LED dimmers are an excellent option for dimming overly bright LED lights, which is why I have used them all throughout my house, including in the kitchen, bar, bathrooms, office, hallways, and so on. They are also very easy to install. My favorite feature is the functionality with the saved dimmer settings that keeps the light in my rooms soothing instead of overly bright. Opportunities: Personally, I think these switches are great as is, though they do sometimes confuse guests. Overall: If you’re sensitive to bright lights or you simply want to upgrade your switches, these LED dimmers are a great option.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: how much power do led indicator lights draw?**
A: Although the dim level indicators on the dimmer control usually remain on, they can optionally be set to turn off when the room light turns off. It's an option setting that can be set during or even after installation, without even having to remove the switch plate. Refer to the dimmer's programming guide on the Lutron web site.

**Q: The max brightness seems lower than when I had a non-digital dimmer. How do I adjust? I see instructions for the lower dim range but not the max**
A: Please see Lutron's Application Note #459. All of these settings are NOT listed in the manual that came with your switch. www.lutron.com/TechnicalDocumentLibrary/048459.pdf You want to adjust IL7, the high-end trim.IL1: Preset Light Level (last setting or set permanently)IL2: Fade ON Time (0.75 to 15.0 seconds)IL3: Fade OFF Time (0.75 to 15.0 seconds)IL4: Delayed Fade to OFF (time to leave the room - 10 to 70 seconds)IL5: Enable/Disable Indicator Lights (LED dots off or on)IL6: Low-End Trim (minimum brightness)IL7: High-End Trim (maximum brightness)

**Q: Can this handle dimming LED lights all the way down so they are actually dim, like the incandescents? Yes, I have an LED light bulb that is dimmable.**
A: I have the Wafer 6 in. White Integrated LED Recessed Kit that Home Depot sells. They say they can go down to 10%.. I had another switch in previously that the lights wouldn't dim down as far and would turn off randomly when dimmed down all the way.

If you use the adjustment feature in this switch it seems like they go down to that no problem. I've been running them for a day and no flickering or turning off. If anything changes I'll leave an updated comment or update this answer. Two factors you'll need to look at: 1) what is the LED bulb rated to go down to 2) Is this dimmer compatible?

If your LED bulb says it can do it try many different dimmers until one works :)

**Q: Is anyone using this with an LED and if so, for how long and how is it working? Thanks!**
A: I'm using this with two 12.5W Soraa High-CRI "Vivid" series LED PAR30 4000K bulbs (total controlled load: 25W) and it is the finest dimmer switch I've ever used. With the "Advanced mode" custom programming (Technical document: www.lutron.com/TechnicalDocumentLibrary/048459.pdf) to adjust the "low trim" (dimmest point) I can get these bulbs to be on and stable at only <1% illumination (I call it "moon glow"--it wasn't even enough to register on a basic light meter at 2 feet). Dimming is "buttery smooth" and all time delays work perfectly. I previously used a cheaper dimmer switch that didn't do anywhere as near as well. I'm now in the process of replacing all my older cheaper dimmers with these Lutron units (one by one as they are pretty pricey!) because they're just that awesome.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Best LED Dimmers!
*by K***R on August 26, 2025*

This is an honest review of the Lutron Maestro LED Dimmer switch that I have purchased and installed in multiple locations throughout my home.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A few months later and everything is working great. Which leads me to my real point
*by J***E on May 12, 2016*

As far as the product goes, it works totally as advertised. It was a breeze to install. I just cut the power to the area, unscrewed the wall plate, unscrewed the prior switch, unscrewed the screws connecting the wiring, refit the wiring around the screws on the dimmer switch and put everything back. Five minutes per switch and done. A few months later and everything is working great. Which leads me to my real point. Dimmer switches are AWESOME! I have a new construction home that has recessed LED lighting throughout and it is BRIGHT. So bright, in fact, that we never turned them on unless we were looking for something that our infant lost or if we were taking interior pictures. We had lamps for regular use. It was crazy bright. Enter these dimmer switches and now my home is SEXY. The little button to the right of the main switch toggles through about 10-12 different shades of light ranging from as bright as original to off. there is a nice little setting before off that is very dim and perfect for if you are watching a movie or napping but don't want pitch black. Another great feature is when you go from off to on and vice-versa, the light fades in/out. Its a nice touch that multiple people have commented on. Also, the light automatically goes to your last dim level when you turn the lights back on and there is a little LED indicator to let you know what level you are. If you don't have dimmers installed in your house, I would recommend it. they are a great, inexpensive way to make your house more enjoyable, cooler, more attractive. Since I installed the first one in the living room I have bought three more for the bedroom, basement and kitchen. Soon I will have them in most of the other rooms in the house.
