These chisels worked amazingly. They are very sharp, very well made. They come with a protective coating over the blades to help keep them clean and free from any water. The box that the chisels came in is also very nice. I am very happy with how flat the chisels are, doesn't seem to be any missed sections. I know there are higher priced chisels out there but I felt these ones were the best value . The handle size fits perfectly in my hand. Overall, a very good purchase.

I would consider this to be a fine set for the beginner and expert alike. The six chisels provide you with a good variety of widths suitable for most applications. I found that the protective coating that the chisels are shipped with was easily removed with a little acetone. The markings on the steel are printed, not etched into the steel, so they will wipe off when removing the coating. The steel is very hard so, out of the box, the set-up might take a little longer than a softer steel chisel. The backs weren't as flat as others that I have bought, meaning that you'll need to invest some time there. This was the only negative that I found, but not severe enough to affect the 5 stars. Fortunately for me, the chisels that I received all had slightly concave backs, so the flattening didn't take as long as it would if you have convex backs. They are manufactured with 25 degree bevels, so if you prefer a different bevel angle (I prefer about 30 degrees, with no micro bevel), plan on a little work before you jump into any woodworking. If you want some advice for setting up your chisels, I would recommend checking out Paul Sellers on YouTube. After achieving the proper set-up, I found that they hold a sharp edge for quite a while. I'm no metallurgist, but I understand that they will hold an edge even longer after a few sharpenings. Something to do with the hardening process during manufacture. The thickness of the steel is a little more than what you might find with "premium" chisels, but that didn't affect the performance in a negative way. They are well suited to cleaning up dovetails and for cutting mortises and shaving tenons and dados. The handles are a good size and shape and are comfortable. I applied a little BLO to mine, just for a little protection. There is a wood nub at the top of the handle, so if you like to use the "palm hammering" method, you might leave a welt on your hand. I like to use a soft-face hammer (don't use a metal hammer!). You can pay (a lot) more for the "premium" chisels, but, in my opinion, you don't need to. With proper set-up and care, these should last a lifetime.

Was looking at expensive German options, but these have been incredible, especially for the price.

Well made very sharp

I thought I was going to get some high quality tools in a nice heirloom box, to be inherited by whoever buys them at the estate sale, on account of me not having any kids to pass them down to. Unfortunately, the box is made out of compressed paper. Upon opening, I was greeted by a small pile of broken brackets, also made of compressed paper. Shipping from the Czech Republic to my hands must have been rough, given the chisel marks on the side of the box. As for the chisels, I was not expecting scalpels but they do need a bit more sharpening. They are nicely oiled, though. They feel good in the hand and seem well made, if not perfectly finished. The printed brand on the handles cheapens their appearance. I have to wait for my hand to heal before I can give these chisels a go but they look like they'll get the job done.

This chesel set is well made, look great, and the wooden case is fantastic. It's perfect for a mid to high end starter set of chisels.

Very high quality set and precision ground out of the box. I tuned up each chisel with 120/220/500/1,000 grit on a flat stone and some bluing, took less than an hour to do the whole box. Flatness/sharpness is outstanding

As someone who watches a ton of YouTube videos (that makes me super credible right?) these come highly recommended by lots of YT woodworkers. My first set of chisels were cheap and were unable to really do the things I wanted to do (be sharp, hold an edge for a long time, be square, be able to take a really great mirror polish). These need very little to almost no work to get to what I wanted right out of the box. Some stropping with compound on my Tormek and these are in super shape! Some work with these on a really high grit diamond stone and they are perfection. Incredibly great steel and the wooden storage box is a huge blessing (and looks great too). Highly recommend these!

Bought these after seeing them recommended on YouTube - they are beautifully made and nice and sharp right out of the box. Glad I bought the one in the box too as I could unscrew the lid and place it in a drawer keeping everything together. Nice tools and sharp tools make the work much more enjoyable
