Pediatric Telephone Protocols: Office Version

Just got a RN position at a local pediatricians office with a med-surg/ob background only so i got this book to help me when I get triage phone calls to help me decide if they need to go to the ED, immediate care, see the Dr today, make a follow up appt or something easy parents can do at home. It is easy to understand and follow. Worth the price.

Updated protocols with supporting rationale included in this edition. The addition of 16 new protocols are extremely useful and address concerns not included in the 14th edition. The tabbed format makes for easy navigation during telehealth triage. Simply put, I could not perform high quality phone triage in our busy pediatric practice without it.

This is an awesome book to provide Telephone triage services. Added more chapters, more OTC medication references/dosages. I put tabs on the specific protocols I use the most, and I am able to flip to them quickly when I need them.

Knowledge base is 5 stars; format is 1 star. Come on, in our age of screens, should be made available as an app or subscription. Easy to update also. As a shared reference book, ok, but even then, much prefer a reference source that's accessible wherever I need to be.

I am a nurse in a pediatricians office and this is our reference we use for our phone calls with parents. Makes phone triaging sooo much easier. It's a great resource! There's a few things I feel should be in the book that are not but not too many. Probably 90-95% of protocols that you will feel you need are in here.

This is a well know book for nurses giving triage advice, This edition does not disappointment, easy to read format with information being able to be accessed quickly.
