## Description

2 Matched True Condenser Microphones (price per pair, only sold in pairs)

Review: I bought these matched microphones for card opening videos. - I recently acquired the Behringer C-2 Matched Studio Condenser Microphones, and I am genuinely impressed with the performance and value that these microphones deliver. These compact yet powerful mics have proven to be versatile workhorses, and here's why they deserve a spotlight. First and foremost, the value for money is outstanding. Getting two matched condenser microphones at such an affordable price is a deal that's hard to beat. Behringer has managed to strike a fantastic balance between quality and affordability, making these mics accessible to both beginners and seasoned audio enthusiasts on a budget. The matched pair concept is a game-changer. It ensures that both microphones in the set have identical frequency response and sensitivity, crucial for stereo recording applications. Whether I'm capturing a live performance, recording instruments in stereo, or conducting interviews, the matched pair provides a cohesive and balanced sound that enhances the overall recording quality. The build quality is surprisingly robust, given the budget-friendly nature of these microphones. The metal housing feels durable, and the included mic clips and carry case add to the convenience and portability. While they may not have the heft of more expensive models, the C-2 microphones feel solid and well-made. The versatility of these microphones is a standout feature. Their cardioid polar pattern effectively isolates the sound source, minimizing background noise and delivering focused recordings. This makes them suitable for a variety of applications, from vocals and acoustic instruments to drum overheads and room miking. Setup is a breeze, and the microphones come with a -10dB switch and a low-cut filter to accommodate different recording scenarios. They are also phantom-powered, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of audio interfaces. In terms of sound quality, the Behringer C-2 microphones perform admirably. They capture clear and detailed audio with a surprisingly flat frequency response. While they may not compete with higher-end studio mics, they certainly hold their own in their price range. In conclusion, the Behringer C-2 Matched Studio Condenser Microphones are a fantastic entry point for anyone looking to delve into stereo recording without breaking the bank. Their affordability, versatility, and matched pair configuration make them a valuable addition to any home studio or audio setup. Behringer has once again proven that quality doesn't have to come with a hefty price tag.
Review: Crisp, Clear Matched Microphones... - Compared to other matched cardioid condenser microphones, these are a true bargain. Because of the low price, I was skeptical about their performance, but after reading numerous positive reviews, I pulled the trigger. I am not disappointed at all. I've installed this matched pair of mics in our church sanctuary as stereo room mics, to capture ambient noise, the audience and minor reflected sound. This helps add to a real-life feel for our live stream. They are perfect for this application. Mounted to the ceiling and pointed towards the audience, they pick up the detailed noise of conversation, clapping, singing and some stage reflections. The built in low-pass filter helps tune these to reject omni-directional bass and instruments. They are easily operated using the 48-volt phantom power switches from our mixer and with crisp highs in the 20K range, even the lightest high-end noise is captured. The bodies are cast from durable metal, and they include mic clips, that are dual-threaded for easy mounting. Time will tell if these will remain functional for years to come, but after tailoring these with EQ, panning and some delay on one side, they are impressive, and have already greatly improved our live stream. Highly recommended...

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Has anyone used these mics for a church choir? Do you believe that these will work well for a church choir?**
A: We have a small "underground" church and our choir sings in an isolated room due to limited space in the main hall. Using these mics, we are heard in the main hall as if we are actually there. We used to have miking problems before and these guys instantly solved them. The result is the same whenever we are in bigger venues where we share the same hall. Really warm and responsive. We are a choir of 7 to 15 singers by the way.

We've been using them for almost 3-years now and they never failed us. If they get lost or broken, we won't hesitate to buy again.

I also tried recording with it (vocals + acoustic guitar) and I am so pleased with the result. I'm buying a pair for my personal use and will just use my trusty Shure PG81 to mic my amp.

**Q: Has anyone use these on drums? live, recording or even a rehearsal that you mixed down with bass, guitar, horns, mutiple singers ect..?**
A: These mics can work fairly well as overheads for drums, or on a hi hat. You might even get decent results on acoustic guitar, small percussion devices like wind chimes, etc. Since they are small diaphragm condensers they aren't meant to pick up an entire band with complete accuracy as a stereo pair. Of course they can record all the instruments, voices etc you described if the sources are set up properly and the sound is balanced in your recording space, but they won't provide a balanced frequency response, especially in the bass and low-mid regions. I have a pair and use them occasionally for non critical applications. For the money, they are ok at best, but they will not provide the quality sound that a well-made matched-pair of large diaphragm condensers would. Names like AKG, Sennheiser, Shure, Rode, Audio Technica and Neumann are just a few companies that make truly professional mics that would get the job done properly.

**Q: What do these mics come with? (single or 2 pack mic, cables, stand adapters, ect...)**
A: If I remember correctly.... it's a 2-pack of mics with mic stand adapters. When I bought them, I don't remember them coming with windscreens. It would have been nice, but I definitely didn't get a dual mic stand adapter (stereo-bar). I just check Behringer's website, and they don't mention what accessories the mics come with. I checked PSSL, a competing store, and they mention inclusion of the stereo-bar and windscreens. They come with a carry case. You'll need XLR cables with XLRs on both ends, NOT XLR to 1/4", as they need phantom power. If your mic inputs don't provide +48 V phantom power, you'll need a 2 channel phantom power power supply, something like the Elite Core PPS-2 (here on Amazon). You can't put betteries into these mics. I've had great luck with GLS XLR cables, they're just as high a quality as the more expensive cables.

**Q: microphone work without phantom**
A: Phantom power required, but mine work ok with 15 volt power from a Powerwerks PW100T

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Performance For The Price
*by N***2 on February 27, 2023*

At the low price they seemed like a low risk investment, and they turned out to be just that. I do remote recordings, and you always want to have standbys for everything. I always go out with two digital recorders, and a couple of stereo pairs just to make sure the gig goes down. People don't pay for failures! Up till now the fallback pair has always been a set of SM 57s, and I will still carry them. But a pair of matched condensers is even more desirable, so I grabbed these as a backup pair. I'm glad I did. A couple of weeks ago I had a gig in a church where I hung the mics over a balcony, only to discover that there was a problem with one of them. I pulled the C-2s out and tried them. The results were surprisingly good! The client loved the sound, and I did not have tell them that I used a $40 set of mics, either. Paid for themselves on the first gig, and then some. Certainly not a replacement for Neumann or AKG, but definitely worth having around, just in case.
