I settled upon the Holux Mini based on an article that spoke about its simplicity. And it truly is simple to use! There are no bells and whistles, but it is ease to operate, set up and is reliable! And I think reliability is the key factor here.Here are somethings to note about the Holux Mini 1 HD:• Set up is fairly simple -- I have a newer Corolla and was able to tuck the cords easily under moldings, floor mats, etc...• The power cable is roughly 8–10' long. I didn't measure it during installation, but it was more than long enough!• The video format is AVI. I'm not sure what codec it uses, and you may need to install a program like Divx or something with many codecs. However, it played flawlessly on my laptop!• On initial start up the screen has gone glitchy a couple of times. The screen will have diagonal lines and buzz around. I usually just restart it and it's back to normal! Please don't let this deter you from it, but know that it could happen. I am not returning or exchanging due to this myself.OVERALL this camera is relatively affordable, comes with everything you need, dependable and easy to use! If you capture one accident on film the video evidence is worth the price of the camera alone!!! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ seems liek a decent dashcam *by K***N on January 23, 2016* I bought this to replace my Cobra CDR810 dashcam. i have had this new dashcam for a few days now, I may edit review after more time with it. my review will be comparing this dashcam with my old cobra.the package contains: dashcam, power cord that plugs in your 12 v cigarette lighter not USB, micros SD card, and windshield mount.in comparison to my cobra dashcam i like smaller form factor although it seems a little small. buttons are clearly labeled my cobra was not as straightforward. display on this is bright and vibrant puts my cobra to shame. included micro SD card (class 10). writing on front of cam seems like a bad idea for those that want to conceal it from possible thieves - black tape works great to cover it. comes with long usb cable tied to a 12v adapter - straight usb cable is better if you have other needs for your 12 volt receptacles, you can run straight USB cable into a USB power source instead of using included cable. very lightweight, should have less chance of falling off windshield, my cobra cam fell off windshield many times. it seems like the viewing angle is narrower than my cobra, its still doable unless you really want wide viewing angle. instructions while not necessary would have been nice to have a bit more than simple overview of buttonsi have not checked the recordings yet or used the included micro SD card. i elected to use the brand name class 10 car i already had over the generic - will keep included card as backupthis cost me $50 or less - it seems like its worth the money ### ⭐ Buyer beware. *by B***A on September 23, 2016* I like the size, and if the product actually worked i would have been happy. I inserted the sd card that comes with it and it was fine, installed it and started recording, then it started saying no card available.
