Poor quality – Will corrode fast
This thing will rust to nothing in 6 months if you live in a humid area, definitely not real stainless steel

Rusten out after 9 months
Nice addition for quick searing, even though the increased temperature seems marginal. Very disappointing that the unit is not rust proof. Stopped using it after 9 months. Can I return it?

Doesn't Seem to Stand Up to Use.
I purchased the Searing Burner for my Lion Grill on February 3, 2015 from Amazon. Initially I was happy with it but noticed that the cover that lays over the burner is burning away. I probably have only used the searing burner about 1/2 dozen times and do not feel that it should wear this fast. I was happy initially with it but very disappointed that it is not lasting. I've called Lion and no one answers only getting a recording that someone will get back to me. Although I enjoyed it when I first purchased it, there is no way I will spend another 170 dollars to replace it with another.

Seemed like a good upgrade but not so much...
I purchased this unit in April 2013 so I don't know if any improvements have been made (from the picture it doesn't appear so) but I experienced the same durability problems as other reviewers. The top screen is far too lightweight to give lasting performance. I also noticed that there is much as 100 F difference from from to back to front when the searing unit is on high, with the rear portion giving off the most heat. I pulled this unit off and replaced the original burner after about a dozen uses. I stumbled across the Lion Premium Grills L89746 Professional Series Italian Ceramic Tubes with Flame Tray and I will give those a try. The reviews are pretty positive and it looks as though these will accomplish what I'm looking for which is to even out the temperatures that Lion, like all gas grills using metal flame tamers, suffer from.
