Aquarium 100% Silicone Sealant (10.4 fl oz) Safe for Fish (1 Pack)

Used the bottle to (re)seal a 25-gallon fish tank. I actually had to seal it twice because I messed up the first time, and I was happy to see that the tube easily had enough silicone for two applications. I've still got enough left for another small project. I let the silicone set for 48 hours before adding water, and the seal works great! I've had my tank going for about a month now, no leakage even with added rocks, filters, plants, and soil in the tank. The silicone does STINK though. My friend and I needed masks, fans, and open windows to keep from getting dizzy. If you can, please use this silicone outside. If you must use it indoors, open all of your windows and get a fan going. The last thing to note is that this shipment doesn't come with a caulking gun. I got one for $5 at my local hardware store and it worked like a charm.

Just as advertised

I was attaching a background I made for my aquarium but I have never done anything like this before and I’ve only ever used a caulking gun once before in my life. I learned the hard way that without that little nozzle to attach to the tube- application is an absolute nightmare. I may have gotten silicone everywhere but the cracks it was supposed to be in. I had to run a bead on my finger and push it into the cracks bit by bit. So the product is probably fine but if this company is in the habit of regularly forgetting the nozzle that’s pretty unfortunate. (And I was so excited about finally being close to finishing my project I just went for it anyways- probably shouldn’t re-live my mistake) The tube is very difficult to squeeze, but the silicone itself sticks better than any I’ve used before (smaller tubes of other types or the caulking for the bathroom I once did) be warned it’s also harder to clean off hands but it does pretty well with nitrile gloves. And it smoothes much much nicer than any other silicone product I’ve used too. Even with a respirator mask there is a horrible stinging acid smell when it first comes out of the tube it will burn your nose but long term there is not lasting lung or nose soreness like there would be if you spill bleach or vinegar. So initially it was bad but it’s a relief it was only for a moment. And it didn’t make my eyes sting- which is surprising for such a strong smell.

Works great. Be sure you can use all you need at one time since you can't reseal.

My tube arrived today, and unfortunately, it was missing the tip. Luckily, the project I needed it for did not necessarily need the tip, but it was inconvenient at the least. The silicone stinks, but only if you put your nose up to it. Other than all of that, the silicone is as described!

I make and repair fish and reptile aquariums and use a ton of this product. And the product itself works perfectly. But I'm forced to lower my rating because it never comes with the application nozzle. So I would imagine I'm criticizing the order picker more than the product itself.
