works excellent, instant start. push button to lock torch on, has lock out button to stop unintentional lights. very nice torch, i did hesitate as price is on spendy side, but well worth it so far. the flame is not really adjustable down lower, only down side if you need that. it rips full all time.

This is the 3rd Benzomatic MAP torch I've puchased in the past 15 years...and they all work great...even the oldest one that is still going strong. Never had a problem with any of them. The reason I bought this one was to have one on each level of my house - so I don't have to go look for one when I need it. I'm no spring chicken anymore - so convenience is more importrant than the cost of extra copies of products I already own. The Benzomatic MAP canisters are a little pricey - but in my experience the Benzomatic MAP gas burns hotter than the generic MAP gas does - so the extra cost is worth it to me.

I paid a bit more for this name brand and I can already tell it is better than what I had that fell apart after a few uses.

I try to do most of the repairs on our irrigation system in our yard. Seems like every year I managed to break a line or two and need to repair it. When I inverted my old propane torch to warm up the plastic pipe to try to get the fittings inserted, it never worked well. I love how this ignites automatically and can be used in the inverted position. I can’t say enough good about it. You will be delighted with this new tool.

The only propane burner worth buying. Cheaper plastic knock-offs like Hot D--il just crack, melt and leak gas. Don't waste your money on others.
