I'm a huge Venom fan, but I'll try not to be biased...
I gave this 5/5, but I'd rate it as 4.5/5 if I could. It's still an excellent product, though. I'll probably be purchasing the Marvel Select Carnage upon its release. Anyway, onto the review. First, the box: Considering the fact that Marvel Select is a line for collectors, the packaging itself is decent looking. I wouldn't display it inside of the box, but some people will choose to. Don't get me wrong, though—it's still a great container. The left side is the most attractive part, featuring a large illustration of Venom. I believe the art is by Angel Medina and was used as the cover for Venom: Dark Origin, Issue 4. Regardless, it really compliments the rest of the package. On the back is a description of the character. It's not without error, but it's a fairly enjoyable read if you don't know much about him. If you're as big of a fan as I am, you'll probably notice the mistakes, but they don't really affect the action figure in any way. Onto the figure: Unlike other Marvel Select products, they've deliberately excluded a stand and have included a multitude of interchangeable parts instead. I think this was a wise decision, but I'd have preferred both. With all of these parts, everyone is able to have the Venom figure of their dreams. One thing that a lot of people tend to skip over is the fact that the Madness backpack's parts can also be used on the main piece. Its hands, for instance, look great on Venom's dominant arms. The four articulated heads can be placed on the main body, too, which looks hilarious. The sculpt is the best part of this figure. It features the sleek design of the symbiote, but retains plenty of texture. The musculature is defined and looks as realistic as a comicbook character's can. They even made sure to include small details like his web shooters. Out of the three main heads, I think the one with Eddie's face peaking out is my least favorite. The other one with the tongue, however, is my favorite. Oddly enough, my tongue seems to be completely attached. I've seen others remove it, so mine must have a small defect. I'm fine with that, though. Perhaps I'll modify it one day. As for the paint job, I'm disappointed. There are small flaws here and there, especially on the heads. Mine is certainly better than some of the others that I've seen, though. If I could've looked through a store's inventory to pick out the best one, I would have. However, the black looks decent and the blue wash is dispersed properly and really highlights the veins. The articulation on this action figure is decent, but nothing revolutionary. It's better than most Marvel Select figures, so there's that. The lack of ankle and wrist pivots is disappointing, but it can be dealt with. Odd that the longest thing I wrote details the packaging, but I digress. Anyway, there you are. 5/5.

HOLY VENOM BATDAN
Holy VENOM Batman! Venom is my favorite villainish character ever. I used to have every older Marvel Venom figure in existence til I grew up. Well here I am and who needs them when I have this?! This figure is impeccable. It is divine, nostalgic, superb. The accessories, the accessories, the accesscories! Three different hands, three different heads, and a body accessory that mimics Venom's split existence between many Venoms. The sculpt is flawless. Each face has intricate detail down to the teeth. If you notice on the box there is a section where there is this blue web like lacing graphic. Well that blue lacing can actually be seen throughout the sculpt. Veins pop when you get close in this blueish black hue giving him depth. Articulation is all there. The only thing that maybe you could ask for would be ankle rotation, but that's minor. His arms work great and his hands are easy to remove and replace. His heads are able to move and look up and down. He stands on his own and is very positionable. I have one gripe about my figure though, and only one. My favorite head (Venom lashing out with his tongue) is loose. And I don't mean a little. I mean extraordinarily. Not loose to Where it slides on and off too easy. But loose in it's rotation. I can hold Venom and rotate his head all the way around his body with the flick of my wrist. Since it's my favorite head this is the one I want on him every day. So it kind of sucks it has to that one that is loose. The other heads have no issues whatsoever. While this is a negative it doesn't impact how awesome this Venom is. With a little parafilm plastic, I wrapped the base of the stem several times to thicken it and then replaced the loose head. This fixed the problem. Boom, science! Get this yesterday people. And check out some of my pics. I even gave him a comic book look in editing.

"Venom"Bringing back middleschool memories
"Venom" i can say this about the marvel select venom figure it is by far the best venom figure ever made. I remember when i was in middleschool and got into venom when he first hit the scene. I went to toys r us and got the venom figure that was out at that time. I was stoked to get home and try out the black ooze that you would put in his back and push a button to ooze it out of his chest which didnt really work as good as expected haha then a few years later another venom figure hit the shelf and again i rushed to toy r us to buy him. this time it had a button on the back that made a thin plastic tongue protrude from his mouth but this venom had the look of Mcfarlane artwork to him which was cool but confused me a bit as a kid i was used to the venom with rows of sharp teeth look. But i was happy to own this figure as well. Well lots of years later i was super excited to order this new venom figure that they released. I cant even explain how shocked i was to hold him in my hands and think wow wtf? This is how he's really supposed to look just plain gnarly. If you are a fan of venom then buy this figure it does not disappoint in any way at all. i tried all 3 heads and versions over and over to see what looked best to me and oddly enough i went with the Mcfarlane look (head with an evil grin) haha which i wasnt a huge fan of in my younger years but come to love it all these years later. I payed $30 for him and was well worth the cost.

Best Venom, Best Select Ever
This action figure the ultimate action figure that sets a new standard for Marvel Select. This bad boy comes loaded with interchangeable hands, heads, and arms if needed. It's how all Selects should be made from now on. Venom is huge and fits in well with any Select Spiderman or any Select figure, period! Venom sculpt and paint is exquisite and top notch as expected from Marvel Select. Because of the interchangeable heads, you can give him many unique looks and displays, such as first appearance Venom, or as I call it Mcfarlane Venom. He has two more heads; one is half Venom half Brock, the other head has his venomous tongue sticking out that can be twisted in any direction or removed altogether for another signature Venom look. Indeed, this Venom figure is a must own. I own 15 or so Select figures; my fav being the Hulk, but Venom has overtaken the Hulk as the fav/best Select every made and because of the interchangeable parts, he might be the best comic book figure ever made! Venom is a five out of five. He is near perfect. Some may prefer more articulation but as far as sculpt and paint apps, this is the greatest for any Venom figure. He is an absolute must buy. BEST COMIC BOOK FIGURE EVER!!!

Awesome blue-butt Venom
Overall a great looking figure but for some reason Venom has slight blue coloration (perhaps a color wash applied over black for detail/texture) present only on his butt + crotchal region... very interesting. It's noticeable only in bright, direct sunlight. Blue-butt and all, this is the coolest and by far most detailed Venom action figure I have seen. I don't have many Marvel/superheroes, I collect mostly NECA brand 7" figures and Venom fits in scale with them perfectly (he stands eye-to-eye with a Predator). The "madness" accessory add-ons are totally awesome and make this figure pop out from everything around it. Besides the madness heads + arms attachment that clips onto his back there are also alternate main heads and hands you can swap out to give Venom many different looks. The only problem with this figure is the articulation. There are plenty of articulation points but many of the joints are far too stiff or too loose. The shoulder joints particularly are incredibly stiff. I gave myself a blister trying to loosen 1 of them up and still, forcing it to move it is so difficult I pretty much never move that arm. The ankles and ab-crunch joints are the exact opposite and so loose they flop around at will. This makes a free-standing venom pretty much impossible because: 1) the extra heads/arms (coolest part of the figure) attached to his back make him extremely top-heavy and the floppy ab joint means his torso is capable of shifting position at the slightest vibration, 2) the loose ankle joints add even greater instability to the already very narrow/tiny feet (they made Venom a 7 foot dude who wears size 8 shoes). This all adds up to the fact that it is absolutely necessary to lean Venom's back up against something or he will be taking constant nose-dives off of any surface within reach. I even contacted the company because the package clearly states, "Includes Highly Detailed Base", but they said it was a misprint yet to be corrected and there is actually no base at all. I was very disappointed because other figs in this line come with bases and due to the difficulty keeping the figure standing, a base would have been even more useful here than with smaller figures.

hands down best action figure ever
this is the best action figure ever. not only does it have consistent paint, (black with slightly blue hughes scattered across), but it also has an amazing sculpt on all the faces, and amazingly spectacularly great articulation, but the best part, (in my opinion) is the level of variation you can have. What i mean by that is you can have different things and expressions and attitudes on this guy. like if you were there when venom first premiered in the comics and you like that grinny, devious smile on his face, you could do that, or you could put him transforming, or you could have him with the monsterous teeth with the slime on them, and that sweet tounge, you could do that. and that back attach peice with all the madness heads, just adds another layer of emotion, (whatever "emotion" or face you choose,) to the already amazing look of this amazing action figure. i recommend it not only to anybody who likes action figures, not only to people who like venom or spiderman, but i reccomend this to anybody who likes liing on this planet earth. 5 out of five.

Sturdy, multiple points of articulation, and nice variety of display options.
So far this is one of my favourite Venom pieces. The interchangeable heads allow for some display versatility - though having a Brock face sans symbiote would have been nice. The multiple head back attachment is interesting. While it's currently on Venom, I found that I can display it separately in a crawling pose. The downside to the back piece is that it places a lot of weight on the back of the character, which can cause instability. In my current set up, the multiple heads are nestled against the top of its display area, and this allowed me to wedge the figure. Without that, I'd have to consider getting a sturdy stand for stability. There are heaps of articulation points which I love - including the back piece. It's a great figure to add to a collection and I'm very happy with it.

Venom is huge!
I was blown away when I got my Venom today! He came with multiple hands and two heads along with a tongue and extra symbiotic hand attachments! Whoa! For $32 I sure got a whole lot for just the 8.5 in figure! The articulation alone was way better than I thought and the color was matte black with detailed white in the eyes and off white on the teeth. A monstrous figure next to Hulk. Can't wait for my Marvel Select Spiderman when I order him!

VENEMOUSLY AWESOME
This is one of the best figure I own at the moment, it's perfect for display once you get the right pose. Only problem is it's a little difficult to pose and you may need a stand

Super cool
I accidentally bought the same one my boyfriend already had but this is an incredible toy! Very cool design. I’m not a collector myself, but I bought this because of its detail.
