So far No problems!
So far I have experianced noproblems! The quality is really good! For being VGA it's better than I expected! As I normally use DVI when using my PC. I haven't got a chance to test many of my games with this. But I did get a chance to ruff-up the city of Panau in Just Cause 2. Today I'll be sure to try Skyrim on it! (Open World Games RULE!) MY MONITOR: --I'm using a Dell monitor thats a little pricy (It has really good quality imaging) The monitor is not wide screen though, its just a square (17" i think) That uses about "1280 - 1024" screen resolution. -- The only thing I noticed right away was the awkwardness of xbox on a sqaure screen rather than on a flat screen. I guess I can get used to this over time. I will be getting eagle eye coverter shortly. I Will soon have the altimate Desktop setup for my Xbox360 Elite. IMPORTANT! If you guys would like to get audio comming from your PC Speakers. Be sure to use a Female-to-Female-to-Female plug tittled: "6in. Stereo Splitter (3.5mm) Audio Adapter" on amazon for $X.XX. Just plug your PC speakers (the GREEN cord) into the black adaptor. Than do red-to-red and white-to-white! :) I will update if I find anything new.

Works Great! Comes with 3.5mm Adapter!
Like I said, it comes with a 3.5mm adapter and a gender changer in the package. Wish I would have known that before buying an extra 3.5mm male to stereo red/white splitter for my TV. Oh well, at least I'll have an extra one of those around just in case... Like I said, this works and looks great. Picture is crisp and clean, and this is the only cable I can hook up to my Xbox 360 that will actually let me set it for the exact resolution of my TV. Well, almost the exact resolution of my TV. My TV runs 1366x768 and using the VGA cable the Xbox 360 will let me set the resolution to 1360x768, which at least means my TV isn't doing as much scaling as it would with a regular 720p or 1080i signal. This way the Xbox does all the work, and the picture looks better because of it (to me at least). Also, something it doesn't show is that this does have the optical plug as well, so if you're looking to output to a receiver using an optical connection you're totally able to do it with this cable. With the component cables actually a few dollars more than this cable here on Amazon, you'd be crazy not to go this route if your TV has an open VGA port. Highly recommended.

It is a cable!
I recently purchased this cable so that I could use my 360 with on of my computer monitors. My wife no longer allows me to play games in the living room that do not involve my 1 year old daughter. She sucks at both death match and collaborative play so I had to move my 360 to the office. The cable works amazingly well. It allows the 360 to display its picture on any device that has a HID 15 VGA connector. I tried many times for countless hours to get the picture to display using a component cable with my LCD computer monitor, but even using paper clips, glue, and prayer, I was unable to get the picture to work. I finally figured that the holes in the VGA connection on my monitor were just too small to get the RCA jacks to fit in. After I gave up, I saw this cable on Amazon and bought it right away. Using it there is no issue of the holes being too small. The female HID 15 cable plugs directly into the males HID 15 on my monitor! It was tough getting the glue residue off the monitor, but who looks at the back anyway, right? If that wasn't enough, now I can select any resolution I want. While my monitor is a plain jane 1650 * 1080 LCD, I am able to play in full HD. This cable must overclock the extra pixels into the monitor! It is simply amazing. I also took this cable to a friends house and I was able to repair his ring o' deathed 360 simply by placing the clear plastic package the cable came in under his power supply brick. I saved him from having to buy a new console! I will admit he was really not my friend, but I am hopeful. My therapist says that I should reach out to people who have similar interests. Wish me luck.

The best cable to get for your 360
I read all sorts of reviews about this cable providing a "washed out" image compared to component. This has nothing at all to do with the cable but everything to do with the display being used. If you examine the XBOX 360 output, you'll find that the same RGB pins are used to create component or VGA outputs. VGA adds the HSYNC and VSYNC pins already present in RGB signal for component. So why do people complain about the "washed out" effect? That's because they haven't calibrated the display properly or their display can't be calibrated properly using the VGA input (my display and probably most displays have different calibration settings and processing hardware for each input). My display only allows me to set contrast, brightness, sharpness and color temperature on the VGA input, however, the hue and saturation are almost spot on from the factory so the VGA cable is the best for me since I can make use of the DVD upconversion and the XBOX 360 seems to do a better job of scaling 720p/1080i to the 1360x768 resolution of my display than the display itself using component. If Microsoft allowed brightness, contrast, saturation, hue and temperature adjustments from the 360, this cable would truly be the best to get the highest quality output from the 360 for everyone with a VGA capable HD display. Do yourself a favor and purchase/rent the Avia Guide to Home Theater DVD or Digital Video Essentials DVD and use this to calibrate your display for the best results using any cable.

High res enough with DVD upscaling
I bought this cable for my Sony Bravia KDL 32BX300, since I have one of the oldest consoles without a HDMI port. I'm very happy with it - everything coming out of the Xbox looks awesome. Using this cable means you have to adjust your display settings from the XBox Dashboard, and the highest resolution you can get is 1360x760 which slightly better than 720p, and Microsoft says that the VGA cable can do better, but trust me on this. All in all it's very close to the native resolution of my tv (and most mid-line LCDs for that matter). At 32", you can't really tell the difference between 720p and 1080i or 1080p anyway. If you have a REALLY BIG screen, and you care about this sort of thing, sure, VGA may not be the best, but that doesn't mean it isn't still really nice. It beats the hell out of the basic composite video, and while component video may have more versatility (you could use it with a regular TV as well), they don't upscale DVDs to the highest res - they'll still play in 480p as if you were just running yellow/red/white cables. Obviously it's not a perfect solution, but it sure is close. Note: some people talk about "washed out colors" and stuff like that - as far as I can tell, it depends on the TV you have, and whether or not your cable is a cheap 3rd party knockoff or not. With my setup, everything looks really nice.

If you use your 360 as a DVD player, this is a must!
As soon as I hooked the cable up I noticed the visual upgrade immediately. The XBox 360 dashboard seemed crisper and clearer and the text looked less blurry (this was something I could see with my own eyes, it didn't take looking at some 200% zoom side-by-side comparison photos on some gaming message board to see the difference). The first thing I did to test out the true abilities of this cable was to pop in a slightly-compressed anime DVD that I own. The DVD that showed some obvious artifacts over the previous component cable were nowhere to be found with the VGA cable. The image quality was very smooth. Even the 10th Anniversary edition of Reservoir Dogs (not even the latest version/film transfer) looked noticeably better and could almost be comparable to some hi-def content. The reason for the obvious visual upgrade on the DVD is because of the XBox 360's hidden DVD upconversion that can only be unlocked through the VGA cable (a true gem of a feature!). As far as games go, they already looked amazing with the component cable, but I did notice that they looked a little more defined and brighter. The games did NOT looked washed out like some reviews suggest. I believe that the washed out picture may have been a problem in the past, but Microsoft has since released a fix to the problem over XBox live (if your system is hooked up to the internet, you will get the upgrade for free...no need for a gold account). Most users probably never had the problem at all. The VGA cable still includes a digital audio output, much like the original component cable did, and a headphone-sized adapter plug for the audio cables if your television set only has the single input. Just for the information, VGA is also known as D-Sub, so if your television has a D-Sub video/audio input (like mine did), it will work with this cable. Setup was fairly simple, but not exactly as simple as "plug-and-play". You'll need to know your TVs screen resolution (example: my 27" HDTV was 1366 x 768); a simple google search answered this for me. I also needed to manually change the ratio to Widescreen. Both of these setting are changed through the XBox 360's own display settings (not your television). Obviously, if you have the XBox 360 Elite (black version), you should be using the HDMI cable for the best quality, but for the rest of us with the Premium and Core systems (white versions), the VGA is mandatory to reach the best picture quality on a HDTV. I paid about half the price that this cable retails (bought it off a user on the Amazon marketplace), but after my experience with this cable I would have gladly paid full price for a new cable!

WRONG CABLE!
I ordered a XBOX 360 VGA HA AV cable, and I got it I was was so happy. Opened it up... It was the wrong cable. They sent me a XBOX S-video cable which is completely useless to me. I paid $3.99 for one day shipping just to get the wrong cable. Complete rubbish service. Best part I peeled back the sticker on the box it was in and the sticker underneath the vga hd av sticker said s-video..... Like really? Come on!!! I hope they fix my problem.

Pinout is terrible, broke three months after purchase.
The cable was working great for me, no ghosting and no color fading, but about two months after I bought this cable, the pin for the red color bent slightly and made it difficult for me to plug into my monitor. After another two weeks or so, the pin broke off completely. It's terrible quality for the price of the product.
