Deliciously surprising.
Legit flavor and quality. I was a chef for 20 years and for a rehydrated food product I’m impressed. My favorite is the Chicken Alfredo. Will feed two people easily. My go to for camping food when you want a quick meal without too much fuss. Mountain House is legit.

Easy to make, easier to cleanup
Really salty. It turns to mush (like oatmeal) when you add boiling water to the bag. But it fills you up. It says 2 servings in a bag, but any real man that’s been out hunting or working all day is going to eat the whole bag as one serving. The taste is good, just salty

Best ever!
When I was in college, I, “accidentally” found my way into an old Cold War bomb shelter. There were lots of freeze dried meals, so I liberated a few, being a poor college student. After eating a couple of them, I decided that it would actually be better to die in a nuclear holocaust than to have to survive on those things.fast forward to 2025. I’ve tried a whole bunch of camping meals by many different manufacturers and they all have left me wanting for a variety of reasons. Either the food was bland or it was just disgusting or the packaging was bad. I heard that this brand was supposed to be really good. A friend of mine who is a nurse sent me a text message one night saying that she was hungry but the cafeteria was closed and nobody would deliver food that late. I sent her four of these meals, all different, and suggested that she keep one in her bag and one in her car for just such an occasion. She told me that they were delicious. I bought a bunch of them for myself and I have to agree. These meals are wayyyyy better than anything I’ve ever tried. They have great flavor, great texture and are substantial in size. The packaging is awesome. It is thick, heavy material with a zip lock that really holds in the moisture. This is important for two reasons. I add the hot water, seal the bag and let it sit for five minutes and then I turn it over upside down for another five minutes so that the remaining water drains down to the top of the bag and hydrates everything up there. I have yet to have a single drop leak out. Really a great value for the money at 10 bucks. I keep them around for those situations where I’m working at 2 o’clock in the morning and I am really hungry, but don’t want to take the time to make food. I can get a great meal in 10 minutes.

Great shelf life and tastes good.
Great shelf life, excellent for camping, emergencies, day trips, hikes or any on the go situation. The shelf life is the best part about it. In an emergency to know you have this meal as a safety net is comforting. The fact that it actually tastes good is an added bonus! I would eat this anytime, no emergency necessary. I recommend this product, it's a good product. The Minor Con Is Price - These freeze dried meals are a bit pricy. Especially when comparing to an MRE (Meal Ready to Eat). MRE's come with a comparable main course, sides, snacks, coffee, desert, drink powder pouches, flameless heaters, accessory packs an more. Most MREs, just open the pouch and start eating. MRE's have some really tasty menus too. You can buy an MRE literally for the same price and in some instances less than this. The shelf life is only (3-5 years) but there's no need to add water in most MREs. (unless cold weather MRE)Point being, it depends on how you intend to use the product. There are pros/cons to both. If extended shelf life isn't of great importance, I Just feel you get more value out of an MRE. If this freeze dried brand were to reduce their prices a bit, I would certainly buy them more often and I'm confident others would follow suit. A price reduction would also eliminate the price comparison of these freeze dried meals to MREs.
