Works quickly
Love this product and appreciate that it comes with tubes that fit in my bike jersey and run vest. I use it alongside my normal electrolyte/fueling products and the benefit is immediate.

A great system for salt!!
I bought Base salt at the recommendation of my coach and after cramping badly at mile 66 of my last 70.3. Everyone's salt needs are different, and I was not going to let that one factor of many that can cause cramping, come into it again. There is no real mystery of why to get salt in to you on a race, the issue is HOW. Gatorade? thats a LOT of gatorade. more than you can drink. salt pills? P.I.T.A in my opinion... baggies, etc.. and you have to swallow them and wait. Base comes with little tubes that you fill. You then lick your thumb and cover the lid, shake lick, shake lick. done. I brought two on my bike, I dropped one... but while trying to put away, not when using. could have been anything. I took 2 just in case. After that butterfingers incident I started just putting it up my pant leg vs my bento box. This worked awesome actually. On my run, I just left it there. Would take 2 licks, and sip it down at each aid station, put it back up my leg. I did not have any cramping of note this time. Was it the base salt? shady to claim that after 1 use. BUT, all they can do is make a palatable product with a delivery system that works.. and they do that. I will for sure use it again in training and racing.

Works better than I expected.
Was a long time user of Metasalts but this stuff has converted me. I am a bigger than typical racer and I used to cramp up badly running off the bike out of T2 even while using higher than recommended amounts of other products. But in taking this as prescribed especially during bike/run brick sessions, I have had zero issues to report. Is far easier is to take than tablets and goes to work immediately. I would like to see Base redesign the smaller carrying tubes to make them easier to open (not easy to make out which side of the cap to flip open) and to close (sometimes the salt prevents the lid from fully snapping shut on the first try). Yes, I'm nit picking but those minor issues do not take away from the quality of the product. Thank you, Base, for helping me enjoy triathlon again.

AMAZEBALLS!
This stuff is simply amazing. I have been using NUUN for awhile for my electrolyte needs, but honestly, its just too damn expensive. So I was looking for a cheaper alternative. Found the reviews on this and gave it a shot. 3 weeks ago I took it on my Mt. Baldy hike (~10mi 10k elevation), made my trip a lot better than the one I had the previous hike (one week earlier). But I wasn't sure if I was just a little better conditioned or because of this. This weekend, I took it to my first Spartan Beast in Tahoe. Took a little bit every mile or so. Calf started cramping a bit at mile 5, took a hit, and it went away in 5mins. Around mile 8 left quad started cramping a bit, took a little hit, and it went away. Mile 11 both quads started cramping, took another hit, and within 5 mins it went away. I did the whole race (14.7mi) without ANY major cramping. This is HUGE!! The last Spartan I was cramping like mad around mile 7-8 and no matter how many NUUNs or mustard packs, it just didn't help *that much*. But this stuff, holy crap, all the cramping was gone almost within 5mins!! Gave some to some poor dude that was cramping big time towards the end, hope it helped you out bud! Will use it again in my upcoming half marathon this weekend.

Made a big difference for my one hour plus workouts.
I have been an on and off amateur triathlete, who has to be in the top 1% of the population for sweating (yes, super weird thing to sort of brag about). When I get over one hour for workouts, I have big problems. Iโve tried a lot of things, including gatorade endurance and eating things. Adding a few scoops of this to my water bottles has made a very clear and distinct difference in my ability to sustain efforts for longer workouts. I thought for sure that it had to be mostly mental, but the number of times Iโve tried to go without and regularly bonked has convinced me itโs really helpful.

Base Salts make the fueling equation simple
Iโve been an Ironman Performance Coach for 29 years now helping people race in over 1400 Ironman races around the world including qualifying people to dozens of spots at the Hawaii Ironman World Championships. Race performance in Ironman isnโt dictated by your fitness going into the race, itโs dictated by how well you can process water, fuel and electrolytes on race day. Base Salts makes the electrolyte part of the equation simple. That just leaves water and a fuel source. I learned a long long time ago not to let sports drink manufacturers determine the mixture. Keep everything separate and control the equation yourself in the day of the race. That way you can adapt to the conditions and how your body is reacting to those conditions and your pace. Base Performance has the electrolyte requirements of endurance athletes figured out. Now all you need to do is determine the range of what you need to performance and youโre golden. Race well

Leg cramps!
I use this product for leg cramps. Very severe mostly happening through the night. Sometimes through the day. My brother does Ironman competitions and he uses this. He recommended it. Since Iโve been using it I am not getting leg cramps. Iโm very happy!!

Taste like a salted water
I do short 5 K in different environment across globe, I prefer to make it as a diluted solution to drink rather than a lick provided by it. Taste like a salted water. Dont know if that really helps, but it worth a price for the hydration
