Someone just hit my car and camera has not recorded any clear vrm on any cars. Why not?

That is a shame. My car was hit in the rear, in fact the same car hit the rear three times and everything was captured on the rear camera with such clarity. Was useful for the insurance claim.

Question 2

How easy is it to hardwire it in to work whilst parked overnight?

You will need to buy a hard wiring kit which includes an inline voltage regulator and a 5a fuse. This can then be wired anywhere in the car that has a 12/24v permanent supply to it such as your overhead interior light.
This is my favourite place to wire if  job requires 24/7 monitoring. It does have its limitations according to instruction booklet, meaning the mode has to be turned off to enable uninterrupted loop recording. Please be advised that you cannot connect anything directly to an outlet battery or otherwise with using the voltage dropping system I previously mentioned. It will destroy unit, which is 5V only, and will invalidate warranties.
A hard wiring kits is around £12.00
Much of which is a waste of materials, however they do include the 12/24 - 5V dropper.

What are people's advised settings for normal driving and for parking?

Hello Customer,thanks for your question. Please do remember to close parking monitoring and motion detection function when you're driving on the road.(if not,these two functions trigger the captured locked videos which can't be overwrite. If it shows card full,you need to format the card.)
3. If the G-sensor is set to high level, it is easy to lock file and make the Micro SD card full,so suggested set to low, safe enough and recommended to format your SD Card monthly.

Question 4

The camera keeps freezing the only way to turn it off when it happens is to take out the memory card. How can you solve this?

Hi , no idea how to reset it- my camera dont work as well is not recording at all ,other brands have reset buttons somewhere but this one? no idea. i  spended more and got nextbase cam it works much better so far no issues and hve reset button.Maybe your card is doing this issue? its first time like this? if all the time return it and get better one. Sorry i could not help
