The DVD outlander good to watch worth getting especially if you get all episodes and seasons then you could watch the seasons and episodes when there's nothing else to watch on TV at your own leisure

The series continues to evolve, storylines concentrating on the Scottish settlers, headed by Jamie, becoming increasingly established. They are a community as they build and they farm, ever more part of the new America - resentful of being exploited by decrees from England. Of course, main point of interest remains the marriage unlike any other - centuries separating the births of Jamie and his wife Claire. They are now joined from the future by her daughter Brianna and fiance Roger. All must be careful not to interfere with timelines, alter what is to be. But what if they know forthcoming squirmishes and battles will destroy fellow clansmen? What if Claire can tend so many injuries and illnesses using Twentieth Century practices? All too easily she could be declared a witch. Still on offer? Great scripts. An excellent cast creating so many characters to care for. Viewers able to share celebrations that so uplift, sadness when loved ones die, horror of certain climatic sequences. The villains portrayed are villains indeed, their threat palpable. Disaster also lurks in the natural world (snake bites and plagues of locusts included). Then of course there remains the mystical element. Will those standing stones continue to influence events...? 12 episodes of around an hour, all with commentaries. Bonuses include four scenes especially created for the box set. Overall reaction? Some have expressed doubts. For most the series remains powerful and involving, Season Six eagerly awaited.

The consistent quality and rich aesthetic content of this whole series is truly a magnificent achievement, but the reason I am writing this review is because I find the reviews that describe the beautifully choreographed scenes of love making as merely 'sex scenes' and 'boring' quite despicable. These reviews have of course been written by men who seem quite happy to promote non-stop violence and never tire of that, a fact that probably illuminates more about their own capacities in many regards. The producers and directors of Outlander are incredibly courageous in the scenes they have created, which without exception, intelligently challenge and portray the poignancy and intimacy of love making, both in the plain honesty to explore what is normally shied away from, and by simply allowing these inspiring scenes to be long enough in duration to share and enhance the deepening of human understanding, and in doing so, truly connect with their audience, this is one of the reasons this series stands apart from any other I have ever watched.

Have watched every season to date on DVD of Outlander. I know there its based on a series of books & the target audience is mainly women but as a man I think it's a terrific must see show. It looks excellent, I like the historical element to it and the time period, plus the story keeps surprising me. 2 main actors are top notch in Catriona Balfe & Sam Heughan. Excellent watching.

We enjoy this show, and it's not only because I have appeared in a few episodes, so we like to keep up to date with it.

Arrived quickly. It’s Outlander...it speaks for itself.

It has become a new beloved story. Give me anything with time travel and I'm there. Season 5 ended dreadfully for Claire but good to see Ian putting on his Indian war paint for her rescue. Our main characters are getting older, but they have been bringing on younger people. I do like watching the older seasons when they were in Scotland, as I am of Scotch descendants, a sept of the MacGregors. Found that when we were in Scotland and found a dram glass in the Edinbourgh Castle gift shop.

my problem is you asked for a review before Christmas It is no longer a surprise for my husband and we have not watched it yet. I also ordered 2 by mistake. When I sent 1 back it cost me 13.00 for avery small item.

The production is beautiful and the casting is excellent. However, this the most poorly formatted DVD I have ever used. There is a very limited main menu: no settings, no scene selection, and worse there is no return to the main menu after an episode is over. You may as well select play all episodes at the start because that’s what you end up with. Lastly, you get closed captioning whether or not you want it.
