Compact, all-in-one beginner drum set.
You get a lot for your money here. The drums, hardware, cymbals, sticks, stick bag, drum key, posters. Now for the quality.... The wrap on my bass drum shell came loose in one corner. I managed to press it back into round but it definitely worries me for future head changes. Will update if I run into any issues. With that out if the way, I can't complain about anything else. The bass pedal, hihat stand, and snare stand are impressive for this price point and being packaged with a beginner kit. Tom arm and cymbal arm are ok, they get the job done. Hihat cymbals are nice, not too loud and you make them pretty crispy. Crash cymbal is not as good as hihats, but still easy on volume which is great if that's a concern for you. The throne is on the smaller side, good for children, pre-teens. Keep that in mind if you're buying for someone bigger. I had no issues with shells or hoops on the drums themselves, everything tuned up nicely, even with the stock pearl heads. Volume is somewhat controlled, due to the smaller sizes, making it good for home jamming. Sound quality is what you expect from poplar at this price point, but it does have good tone, and if you know how to tune, these little drums can sound GREAT. Just throw some O-rings on these tubs, and they sound like a pre-EQ'd studio recording. Pearl has setup videos on their website that cover initial assembly, tuning, and even playing for these kits. You can tell they're trying hard to make this line accessible for newcomers, and anyone really. All in all, for the money you're spending you get decent quality, and being able to play right out of the box is a HUGE plus if you're a young newcomer who doesn't have the time, money, or stamina to be rodeo-ing with these drum companies, looking for good, dependable hardware that won't break the bank. If you're a parent looking to get beginner drums for your kid, or even an adult who just wants a small practice kit to groove on, this kit is a solid choice.

A lot of potential for a great price
I went with the jazz kit with ideas in mind. I'm an amputee and play with one hand, so I added my main snare and use the provided snare at a sharp angle (approaching vertical) and offset to my main snare so I can get an extra glancing hit off the head. I'm planning on adding a 24" kick so I have double pedal options, but choking up on the beater and playing the smaller kick more like bebop for added color. The cymbals are nothing special but fine just to have. The kick pedal is surprisingly decent with some adjustment to dial it in. I would recommend tuning to the lowest possible tension (make it flat, bring it (the wrinkle) back; a fast improvement right out of the box. All in all this is a great value. Great compact size. Everything is comfortable once set up. A lot of functionality if you're interested in being creative. Solid buy. Would recommend.

Pearl Jazz Kit is Awesome!
My main criteria before buying the pearl roadshow jazz kit, was the amount of space it takes up, the sound quality, and Most importantly the value. Amazingly, it checks out fine in every one of them. You can put this thing anywhere. I have it tucked in the corner of my room, where It takes up roughly 25 sq feet of space (5'x5'), enough for someone who stands at 5'7 to groove comfortably in. This kit is a perfect example of showing the importance of tuning, versus the kind of shells or drum heads you have. While the shells are relatively cheap compared to most drums, and the stock drum heads are okay, with the right tuning methods, you can get these drums to sound amazing. If I can get these shells to sound great with the stock heads, I can only imagine how great they'll sound with better drum heads. The cymbals are complete trash but I still use em 😅. The toms are bright. The kick drum isn't as big sounding as a normal sized kick drum, but it's pretty punchy. The snare drum sounds good but lacks in the deep tones...I'm sure that's nothing a better drum head can fix. Overall it sounds great. You cannot beat the price! The quality of the hardware is good. Bass pedal is solid and smooth. The drum throne does its job. It comes with a neat stick bag and a couple pairs of sticks. My only wish is that the floor tom legs were a bit longer. In my opinion, you get just a little more than what you pay for with this kit. It's a cool little kit for anyone at any skill level. Perfect for anyone starting out, and anyone wanting a cheap kit they can upgrade with better heads and cymbals. Sounds great and TOTALLY worth the price!

Drum teacher weighing in. This is a fantastic kit.
Even if this kit came without cymbals, the price is more than fair. The hardware is solid. The drums themselves are built right; tuned properly, they sound professional, even with the stock heads. The small bass drum is ideal for my needs (jazz combo). The cymbals are there, but they dent easily and sound tinny, which I expected. They work fine for light practice, but forget gigging them. Can't beat it for the price. Will be recommending to my students.

Good Drums with excellent hardware. Just need to setup the bass drum to get a huge punch and switch the cymbals provided with the kit. The rest sound good! Enjoy!

Muy buena, excelente sonido, solo que no leí las especificaciones y era bombo de 18” en vez de 22” como siempre había acostumbrado, por eso opté por devolverla.

I've been wanting a practice kit for awhile now. And this is a great little kit for that type of category, nice sturdy hardware, the shells were actually better quality than I was expecting. Only 2 problems I've had with the kit. First thing first is there's no riser for the bass drum, so I couldn't add a professional quality pedal too the kit. Second problem was the snare, so I only played on the snare for about 3 hours until the snare wires were starting too get looser & looser. So I go and try to adjust the snare wires and make them tighter, but unfortunately had the same problem. But I have professional quality snares so it wasn't a huge deal for me. Overall a great little kit for the first time buyers/ practice kit.
