SABRENT 16-Port USB 3.0 Data HUB and Charger with Single Switches

I have a home PC which I own, and a laptop that belongs to work. This used to consist of two mice, two keyboards, one HDMI switch, one SVGA switch. This meant a lot of wires and clutter on my desktop. So I figured that if I connected everything to a powered USB hub, I could keep just one keyboard etc and simply move the one USB plug. Advantages of USB 3.0 connectivity and the number of ports, along with the 90Watt PSU attracted me to this unit. It is well made, has a power supply similar to the laptop PSU's and included a bracket mounting plate which was a welcome accessory. The unit is plug and play and those with limited tech experience should not fear installation, on Windows 10 it was up and running immediately. I decided to replace my SVGA interface with the second monitor with a USB 3.0 to HDMI adaptor but were prepared to connect this directly, but the speed of this hub is well capable of handling graphics data along with other high data rate USB peripherals. I never thought of the extra charging capabilities for mobile phones, iPad etc, which also was a welcomed bonus charging all Apple products very well. The port on/off switches are the greatest feature, I can simply switch off any port with a prod of a finger, which sorts any webcam incidents first thing on a morning. I am now a loyal Sabrent fan. Well done guys.

No more scrabbling around the back of my desktop to change USB leads, this product allows me to manage all my USB connected products, each having it’s own independent on/off switch and power on light, so at a glance I can check what’s connected and what’s not. It’s not the cheapest option, but the build quality and the name of the manufacturer make this worth every penny. Especially if you need access to a large number of USB 3 sockets and want ease of use, in every sense, this could be the solution for you. Highly recommended.

If you want to skip all this and read the final comment, go for it. The blue screen I got is probably because I'm running another 15 port USB hub that is 13 ports and 2 charging ports, alongside this 16 port sabrent USB hub, so when I plugged a bunch of things in the 15 port hub and then plugged in 1 item in the 16 port sabrent it gave me a blue screen with error in USB driver conflicts. This could happen because of many things, for me, it is because my laptop ran out of memory resources and USB driver resources to be exact and my laptop being too old there are no updates for it and no updates for my old OS Windows 7 Home, so what I did which seems to have fixed it was switched the computer off, wait about 10–20 seconds then I unplugged everything and turned it on without anything connected to the USB ports. When the computer boots up into windows, and everything has loaded up completely, then I plugged in the 15 port USB hub, and then plugged devices in one at a time, Then plugged in the 16 port Sabrent hub and plugged in about 4 devices, all seem to work fine now no blue screen of death as I used to call it in the 90s. However, 3 ports in the 15 port hub do not work because the resources must be used with the 16 port sabrent, go figure not surprised it's 13+16 ports would be hard to get all ports used. For me the only downside to using this 16 port hub would be losing 3 ports out of the 13 port hub I have, but to be fair and honest I haven't used up all the 16 ports of sabrent yet, it may actually limit me to less than 20 ports total. Only time will tell when I fill it up, and I promise I'll update my review if I come across any issues like it can't take any more. In this case you are better off getting and keeping one USB hub in your system and 16 ports seems to be the better one as you can use them for anything data or power charging for phone charging etc... I do admit this looks good, and it's well-made to build quality is top-notch, storage capacity well if you can get all 16 ports to work and each one contains 8TB SSD you would have to be super rich, but it technically is able to take 8TB x 16 ports = 128TB or 12TB x 16 ports = 192TB I'm not rich enough to test this out, but in theory why not. The 90 watts should be enough power and if you don't turn on all 16 ports, it won't use all the 90 watts just being on, it only draws the power of what it's using. I don't think that 90 watts is enough to fill all 16 ports with power hungry USB ports, unless they come with their own power supply to help. I'd say this should have been 100-120watts to give those 16 ports enough room to breathe if filling it all up. If worse comes to worst you can unplug the others and just use this 16 port USB hub which should work on newer computers if it was plug and play with my old system, I see no reason for it not to work with a new system. Final comment: This is a sleek individual 16 port hub that feels cool to the touch, it is an aluminium shell around it, it's a good product and should be plug and play, any issues like blue screens maybe caused by individual user setups and personal computer issues. It can be used to charge phones and products, or data like hard drives and USB flash disks, each USB port is individually switched on/off indicated by a small blue light, that seems to be kept in its own slot meaning the light doesn't turn on in the next USB slot if the previous slot has a blue light on, so I didn't notice any light leaking out. It is exactly as stated on the product page it comes with a 3 pin plug and a 2 pin if you need to use an adapter, it came with a rear screen panel with screws and plastic anchors to fit it on, for some reason I can't see any way for me to use it with this hub this might be a unique setup thing, but it's included, and everything is as stated on the product page. Will update if there's any issues.

I chose this hub to consolidate a large number of USB peripherals on a fixed workstation, including external drives, audio interfaces, input devices, and charging accessories. Physically, it is more substantial than most hubs in this category. The aluminium enclosure has noticeable weight, which helps it stay put on a desk, and the included power brick is appropriately sized for a claimed 90 W output. Each port has its own switch and LED, which is genuinely useful when managing devices that misbehave on sleep or draw power unnecessarily. In daily use, data stability is solid. Multiple USB 3.x devices can run simultaneously without dropouts, and charging performance is consistent for phones and accessories. The limitation is architectural rather than defective: all ports still share a single upstream USB connection, so bandwidth is finite and heavy simultaneous transfers will saturate it. The switches also feel functional rather than refined, and I would not expect them to survive constant toggling over many years. For a dense, desk-bound setup, it does its job well, but it is not a replacement for a true docking solution.

This is an excellent USB 3 Hub. It is high quality, and with its mounting accessory can be easily mounted to a wall for easy management. The ports are well spaced, and strong, as is the actual device. The hefty 90W power supply has ample cable length, as does the USB A to B that connects the Hub to your PC. Anyone who needs a large number of USB devices, I would strong recommend this. While it is not the cheapest; you do get what you pay for; and I'm happy to pay a little more for such a high quality device. Highly recommended.

I need to point out that, while the vast majority of my purchases have been through Amazon for a very long time, this has never happened before. Amazon Customer Service have always been exceptional. First Issue: This item arrived with a delivery/tracking label slapped onto the box, the latter had been clumsily sellotaped closed. It was blatantly obvious that the item had been previously opened, and then stuffed back into the box without much TLC. I ordered a New Product, I expect to receive a New Product. I will not be fobbed off with second hand goods if I did not order second hand goods. Second Issue: This is advertised as USB 3.2, but the box clearly states, in big bold letters, "USB 3.0". Yes, it makes a difference. Had this product arrived New, and as Advertised, it looks to have been perfect for requirements. It is compact, and feels very robust. Sadly, I am immediately returning this product.

Good quality and well made product. Have not started using this yet but unboxing the product, you can tell the build quality is very good and the use of an aluminium case make the unit feel very solid. Lo compré como reemplazo al HUB que uso en el escritorio de mi setup, para no llenar de cables la parte posterior del PC y va de lujo. Está situado bajo un soporte elevador de monitores y cabe perfectamente, pudiendo conectar y desconectar sin problemas con el huevo de 15 centímetros de altura que deja el soporte. Los botones activan y desactivan sin problemas y no hay problemas de conexión con ningún periférico, dando potencia de sobra con su adaptador de corriente. Altamente recomendado.

Je suis particulièrement satisfait de ce SABRENT 16 Ports hub USB et Chargeur USB. J'utilise pas mal de périphériques USB nécessitant une alimentation. Le fait que ce SABRENT 16 Ports hub USB et Chargeur USB soit alimenté est tout à fait adapté à ma configuration et bien pratique. Il dispose de switches individuels permettant d'alimenter ou non (ON/OFF) chacun des 16 ports (port par port). Je veux absolument vous signaler que j'utilise ce SABRENT 16 Ports hub USB et Chargeur USB depuis plus de deux mois maintenant et que je n'ai jamais rencontré de problème lorsque je mets les unités périphériques sur ON (par le biais de chaque bouton individuel) , même sous Windows. Je vous signale ce point car j'ai eu par le passé de gros et graves problèmes sous Windows à cause de switches USB de mauvaise qualité. Ce matériel, en alu brossé, est robuste et de bonne qualité. Je recommande. C'est du bon matos.....surtout pour les gamers qui ont besoin de nombreux ports USB alimentés.

Usage privé mais exigeant, niveau professionnel

One of those things you never knew you needed, but once you have one you can't imagine being without it. I now have 3...one at each desktop in the house. They eliminate the tangled jungle of USB cables, and make it possible to disconnect or reconnect any USB device simply by reaching over and pushing a button. Of course, this also allows you to connect a zillion (okay, maybe only 16) USB devices without juggling ports on your computer and/or small hubs. All ports are powered, and all are 3.0, so you don't need to match power or speed requirements of the different devices to the ports into which you plug them...just plug 'em all in and live your life. It is supplied with wall mounting hardware so you can keep it off your desktop, which I really appreciate. Overall build quality appears to be really good, and I'm not anticipating any failures. I would think that this unit will stay on the wall forever, and any new replacement computers in the future will be connected to all my peripherals with a single cable. Makes me chuckle just thinking about it.

Product works as described, but birth-pains are to be expected. Use AI to sort out problems. 1) Logitech USB dongles for mouse and keyboard did not work for me. The hub was too electrically noisy. I had to mount them on end of a one meter USB2 cable to move them away from the hub. 2) The mounting system works, but requires watchmaker skills. The backplate attaches to the hub with 0 or possibly 00 screws (ie << 1 mm diameter). The female thread is only about 1.6 mm deep and it is aluminum. Extreme care is needed to prevent cross threading &/or stripping. But, on a positive note, it does have an attachment system - very few others do. And it does work, if you can avoid wrecking the threads. 3) The Sabrent HP-PU16 hub only delivers 1.1A to each port, despite being advertised as USB3.0. That may not be enough to run some USB3 devices like external mechanical drives, unless they have their own power supply. Furthermore, the total power budget of the hub is capped at 90W spread across 16 ports, so check your power requirements before you buy. 4) The On/Off switches and indicator LEDs are quite useful for debugging USB problems. And, external USB mechanical drives can be switched off after a backup to keep them air-gapped, in case of a ransomware attack. And their lifetime may be increased by keeping them off when not needed. 5. Port numbers would be helpful. All in all, a very useful product but expect a bit of growing pains.
