Find out how these fun, stackable blocks became the most popular toys in the world. The LEGO toy company was founded in 1934 by a Danish carpenter who loved making wooden pull toys. From its humble beginnings, the company has lived up to its name--which comes from the Danish phrase meaning to always "play well"--encouraging children to use their imagination and build whatever they can dream up. In this book, author Jim O'Connor describes how a simple concept--small plastic bricks that snap together--morphed into a cultural phenomenon. Review: Legos and What Is Books are the best! - My 5th-grade students love the What Is / Who Was books! I bought this one because my class also loves Legos. I would guess that 3/4 of my class has already read this book. As soon as one student finishes the book, another one is asking to read it. Review: Great reads - These books are great reads and easy for those who love to read. By easy I do not mean the vocabulary but the comprehension which is keen for those learning to read. These series are fun and kids read through them pretty quick while also obtaining a load of history that age appropriate.

LET GO OF MY LEGOS!!!
I never knew that there would be a book about the history of Legos. I look forward to reading this, and learning more about them, too, as well.
