It is not KSM-66. It is standardized but half potency of KSM-66.

Yes - Now clearly labels their products that contain Gluten. This label states that Now does not manufacture thiss product with gluten.... in addition to several other allergens. You can't go wrong with NOW. Hope this helps you

Is black pepper required for absorption? I don't see it in the ingredients

It works for me without black pepper. My doctor prescribed this for Addison’s Disease (type of adrenal insufficiency). I take one at night and it helps me fall asleep faster and more sound. I don’t get up as much in the middle of the night. I’ve also been feeling much much better since taking one a night. Waking up more rested in the mornings. I tried other brands in the past but this one is the one that really worked for me. All that said, I do not think black pepper is needed for it to work.
