Ateco Food Cutter, 6" Round, Silver

This was a bit larger than I envisioned. Good quality .It was as like a hambuger bun. I think a 2.5 inch one would be a bisquit size. I still needed it I cook and bake Frequently.

Nice biscuit cutter. I think it will do the job. However, it arrived slightly smashed, because it was packaged in a flimsy paper envelope, instead of a box, like it should have been. I managed to squeeze it back into a round shape, not perfect, but close.

After traveling to 4 different South American countries last year, where we enjoyed different styles of empanadas in each, I tried my hand at making them at home. I made small snack size empanadas at first with my biscuit cutter, but I thought the ratio of dough to filling was too high, so I ordered this cutter so that I could make larger meal size pies. I use my small pizza dough roller to roll out the dough balls to roughly circular shapes, then use this cutter to give them a perfect shape. The result is perfect shapes every time with professional looking results. The cutter is a bit flimsy, but I store it nested with my other cutters in a drawer so that it doesn’t get bent or misshapen.

I purchased this 4.5 inch steel cutter for making jumbo biscuits, and it works great. The largest cutter in my previous set was 3 inches, which is fine for standard biscuits, but this 4.5 inch cutter is perfect for making oversized biscuits, like for chicken or tenderloin biscuits. You'll need to adjust cook time up a bit for the larger cuts, but otherwise everything works the same - just bigger. You could also use this cutter for shaping patties or cutting small cake circles (from a larger sheet cake), etc. The cutter cleaned up easy and was sturdy enough for use with my biscuit dough.

When the weather is cold and the snow if 2 ft. deep, there's no way I'm braving iced roads to buy donuts. With this stainless steel cutter, I don't have to. It's the perfect size to make those custard filled Bavarian Cream donuts, or Bizmarks, filled with lots of my favorite jam. I even use it to make round "Long Johns" stuffed with cream or custard, with the chocolate glaze on top. The donuts look professional, The dough cuts cleanly without a lot of pressure. The stainless steel cutter is much sturdier and durable than the ones made from tin or aluminum. The most difficult part is waiting for the doughnuts to cool so I can fill them before eating. I'm also saving about $6 a dozen (or more), by making them myself (using better quality ingredients).
