It prevents the constipation and diarrhea cycles. It does gel when mixed with water. My method is to mix it with warm water, stir with a whisk, add orange juice, milk, vanilla, and mix with a stick blender for a few seconds. Sometimes I will add Monk Fruit sweetener. Tastes somewhat like a orange vanilla creamcicle milk shake. During the summer I will use Gatorade instead of OJ. The stick blender mixes it very thoroughly so there is very little gritty taste. I got the idea from other users suggestions for smoothies. I did find it at Walmart at a much lower cost. My gastroenterologist was unable to provide me with a product that would give me the relief that this product does. I recently found out from a new friend that she has the same problem I have. She urged me to take this product seeing that it was recommended by her gastroenterologist when she lived in Florida. I had nothing to loose. I found some results on the first day I took it. I feel like a new person. I read many of the reviews in which individuals claimed the formula tasted awful. Of course it is not going to be pleasant with water alone. Add a few drops of a flavor enhancer to a half glass of cold water, Next. add a rounded teaspoon of Konsyl and stir vigorously while adding the remaining 4 oz. of water. Taking this with a total of 8 oz. of water works very well.
