I bought the cd it came with the registration number, no issues at all. the 1 pic is my keyboard on but not playing, the 2nd is playing using 24 octaves the other is 16 octaves I think. I use an M-audio interface. directly from the keyboard it works great. when I had a mic. I could see all the ambient noise. when I used the speakers I could see exactly how my sound was being interpreted. I needed nothing to get this software running and I'm really looking forward to seeing what this software can do. It can be calibrated, which makes it exceptionally useful. The only thing I can think of which I could wish for in addition to the stock features of the full version would be an option for generating impulse waveforms. That would help considerably in the test and design of high performance audio equipment. Beyond that is is also used to analyze noise signatures of commercial jet engines to diagnose impending failure. jlm **Q: Can I use any type of recording/condenser/dynamic mic through a preamp to have proper results or does it need to be an rta mic?** A: You can use any mic you can connect to your PC and Windows. Even the built-in mic will suffice for the most basic testing. For example, if you want to know the body resonance of an acoustic guitar just tap the top of the guitar in front of the mic and you can identify the frequency of the body resonance (usually close to 100 Hz).
