I bought this to make my Bose Companion 2 Series 3 computer speakers Bluetooth compatible and it works great! Set up was easy, all you do is first charge the device then connect it to speakers via AUX and hold the power button down to enable pairing mode. None of my devices had any difficulty pairing with Bluetooth (iPad Pro, iPhone, PC laptop). One issue I noticed is that its not super easy to switch between connected devices. The receiver/transmitter can only pair to 1 device at a time and will automatically pair to that one device the next time it's turned on unless Bluetooth on that device is turned off. This might be a useful feature for some, but since I have multiple devices I'd like to connect to (using at different times) this might be a deal breaker. I'll continue to try the receiver/transmitter for the next few days.

FOR $16.99 it works for my needs, will try it with my Bose headphones tomorrow just to see how it does with music. As for pairing I did it with one headset, so I will see how it does with my Bose. I will order another if the music sounds good. Any review who say they can't transmit are WRONG. My wife has not complained about sound quality, was about to order a second one for my, but read the one star reviews, so a little more testing is needed. Ok, hooked up my Bose headset, needed to use the app, works perfect. There is a small delay so lips are not perfectly synced. For $16.99 its a good deal.

UPDATE: 1 MONTH LATER (Nov 11, 2020) I've learned that I didn't really need to purchase this item after all. I use a Roku device which means I can download the official Roku app and use the Remote Control feature in the app which allows me to control the Roku as I would with the physical Roku remote. The benefit of using the Roku Remote in the app is that I can select to have the audio pipe through the phone. This means that I can have my bluetooth earphones connected to the phone to privately listen to whatever programming I have streaming on the Roku. There's no need to have a bluetooth transmitter just to privately listen to audio. There's still a lag in audio but it's much less than when using the Ziidoo bluetooth transmitter. Conclusion: Don't buy any bluetooth transmitter if you're using any Roku device. Just download the Roku app and use the Roku Remote in the app. Click the button with the headphones icon. Your audio will pipe through your phone allowing you to connect with your bluetooth headphones (or wired) for private listening. UPDATE: 24 HRS LATER This bluetooth device is good and as I stated in my original review there is a noticeable lag when between video & audio. I went ahead and purchased an RCA to 3.5mm adapter after the fact rather than connect with the 3.5mm adapter that came with the device to compare the lag. Using the RCA-to-3.5mm to connect the TV to the device lessened the lag considerably to an almost imperceptible amount. I guess I'll keep the device. ORIGINAL REVIEW: The device works meaning I was able to hear audio from the TV using my Samsung Buds Live. My TV lacks Bluetooth. I am using Roku attached to an HDMI splitter. I use my phone to Miracast videos in the browser or other apps to the Roku. The audio is clear and the volume can be controlled using the Roku remote. The drawback is that there is a noticeable delay or lag with audio syncing with the video. You will definitely notice dialog not in sync with moving lips. I have the TV's earphone out plugged into the device. I'm going to try to connect using and RCA to 3.5mm adapter to see if that makes a difference with audio. I'll update this review shortly. Overall this does provide the ability to privately listen to what I watch on TV which is the main reason I purchased it. A few ovservations: - You'll have to pair your earphones each time you want to use the device. It won't remember your ear phones. - make sure you don't have any other bluetooth devices on when you're ready to pair with your earphones. - make sure your aux cord is fully pushed into the earphone socket of the TV (see pic). Make sure you turn the device off by holding down the control button until the light goes off. The device stays on even when you disconnect your earphones.

Hooked it up to an audio source and followed the instructions: set it to Tx and turned it on. The blue light flashes. Turned on the speaker bar, making sure the bluetooth input was selected. It made its usual beeps and boops but never played anything. Turned the volume up all the way on both ends, nada. Tried another bluetooth speaker, similar beeps and notes, but no joy. Tried yet a third speaker, it doesn't make beeps, it said "powering on" then "ready to pair." That was the end of that. Never paired. Made sure that all my other bluetooth devices nearby were off. Tried pushing buttons, turning things on in different order, nothing. But now in RX mode, my phone could see it just fine and paired right up when told to do so. I hooked this dongle to the AUX input of the speaker bar and it played well what was coming off the phone, although both the phone and the speaker had to be turned all the way up to get "fair" volume. But that's not what I got it for. I want to play from a NON-bluetooth audio source TO a bluetooth enabled speaker. Which has NO SCREEN. This dongle is supposed to pair AUTOMATICALLY to such. IT DOES NOT. Will give the vendor til next week to respond to this review then I am returning it. I can already run a WIRE from the non-bluetooth source to the AUX input of the speaker bar, so I don't really have to have this thing anyway. And my bluetooth sources can pair directly to the speaker bar, so no need of it there either. Update: the picture on the box shows HEADPHONES as the intended use, So I thought, what about my new earbuds? So I connected everything back up and turned it on, and put my earbuds in. They said, as usual, "powering on" and "pairing." (I had turned bluetooth off on my phone so it wouldn't take it.) Then: nothing. But right then I got a text and was busy replying to that when all of a sudden, a full minute after starting, I was blasted with the music coming from the source. It had connected! Then I put away the earbuds, the blue light started flashing again, and I turned on the speaker (less than 1 foot away.) And waited. Nope. Well bummer. I suppose at this price, using the earbuds is better than nothing, but it's not what I expected. Edit 2: That didn't last long. I thought to try the earbuds again just to check the sound quality, but I pulled them out before I turned on the dongle and forgot I had one of the speakers still powered up. So with earbuds in my ears I turned on the dongle, they said "pairing" and then the music started coming from the speaker! I put the earbuds away and the speaker kept playing. Then I turned everything off, and started over. Now nothing works, not even the earbuds. I enabled BT on the phone again just to check the earbuds were OK (yes). What a mess. I quit, you can have it back now.

I haven't used it long, but I was very pleased with how well it worked as a transmitter. Audio quality was mostly excellent. A caveat: while it will work while charging, if it is charging while the battery is full it will produce a lot of noise in the audio signal. Unplug it from your power source and the noise goes away. This combined with it's short battery life (1-3hrs) make it a less than ideal choice for continuous use. But I found it worked great for adding bluetooth transmission capability to an old portable audio player for use while out for a some exercise. If your workout exceeds it's battery life... good for you!

This item is ok for the price, but as others have mentioned the latency issue is a big one. I would say this product is fine if you are using it to transmit from a radio or recording device where the delay would not matter. BUT...if you intend to use it for your TV or other video equipment then I would look elsewhere. The delay in transmitting the audio makes using it with a TV pretty much pointless. Its not just a little slow...its unwatchable slow. Mostly I use it to send audio only...since it does not have to sync up with a picture it is fine that the sound is delayed. I have not had an issue with the Bluetooth but I am careful to have only the one receiver I am using turned on so that it will connect with only that unit. Since you have no control over which the receiver it will connect with you don't want to have more than one Bluetooth device within range. I also had an issue with it not connecting with one pair of Bluetooth earbuds that I own for some unknown reason. Other than those, I did not have any issues with other Bluetooth devices connecting to this unit. Transmitting range seems pretty good overall and it holds a charge for a long time and then charges back up fast. I have not used it in receiver mode...but it is nice to have both options in one unit. Its a good unit for the price...just be aware that the latency issue is a major drawback with this unit if you are using it with a video device.

I needed this for something that is a little unconventional. I have a small home gym in my basement, so I wanted to give it some audio and video for workouts. I had some old things laying about that I needed to get connected. There's an old stereo that I have connected with a Bluetooth receiver connected to the audio in(not this one, a completely different version and not the same brand) a projector with a Chromecast, and this little device connected to the audio out on the projector. What I needed was the streaming video and audio to be sent to the Bluetooth receiver on the stereo, as well as the ability to just play music from another bt device like a phone. I read through all the things on here to see if it could be done and wasn't convinced. I bought it anyway. The included documents said nothing about this use case either. I figured... Well if it's gonna work I'll know right away. I turned on all the things, hit sync on the audio receiver Bluetooth, and sync on this device while in transmit mode and BOOM. Paired. It auto-syncs with any device thats in range and in pairing mode. Perfect. Exactly what I needed. So... Seeing as though I was streaming video to a projector, the next concern was if there would be any lag in the audio. There is none that I can see. The devices have clear line of sight and are about 10ft from each other. Everything I wanted it to do. I hope this review helps someone in their old equipment refurbishment project.

TL;DR - As a trasmitter, this product is awful, but it works great when it does work. It can be like wrestling a toddler trying to get it to connect when you have more than a few devices that use bluetooth in one area. I have had so much hassle trying to get any of my devices to pair to this that I literally threw it in the trash out of frustration. While it transmits sound in a very high quality, and the battery last just as long as the batteries in my headphones typically did, the connection process is so hit or miss you'll be ripping your hair out, especially in a location with lots of bluetooth devices. If you only have one or two devices, I'm sure this would be a wonderful product to have, but the hassle has not been worth the cost for me whatsoever, and I have bought a new product with more control over what it wants to connect to instead of needing to hope and pray it'll work. I really wouldn't recommend this product for any long term usage, or when you need a reliable connection.

Takes ages to connect sometimes and randomly drops out (tried with two sets of bluetooth headphones and both have the same issue). Battery life is underwhelming but you can use it while it charges.
