With our shower we wanted/needed the hand shower to be on the *right* of the centerline so the output nipple was on the left of centerline connecting to the hose, and we installed the hand shower slider bar etc on the right. Make sure your hose is long enough if you need to cross over like we did. Review: Bought this together with DELTA FAUCET T11892 Addison - great combo though a bit pricey. You will need a diverter trim kit which will include the actual valve cartrige. 3 position: If you plug one port with the included plug, this diverter directs h2o to two (2) outlets. Valve diverts to 100% one outlet, 100% to the other outlet, or 50:50 split between both outlets. 6 position: If you do not plug one port, this diverter directs h20 to three (3) outlets. Valve diverts 100% to any one of each of the three outlets. Or splits 50:50 between any combination of two (2) outlets. As usual great Delta quality.
