All of the kale seed packs were dated for 2026. I have planted all 5 varieties, the germination rates were high, and sprouted within a week. I live in the NC Piedmont.

Nice collection and I liked the packaging because it included sealed plastic bags for the remaining seeds and even some plant labels. Good germination rate! Unfortunately, the slugs ate all the seedlings. Grrrr....

No success with the Dwarf Blue Curled Scotch, which was what my wife wanted the most. The Scarlet, Russian and Siberian sprouted fine and transplanted easily. The Siberian and the Red Russian seem to be doing the best in my Zone 6a area. My wife loves the Siberian and hopefully soon will try the scarlet which she is very excited for. The packs were a good price but I wish they had better germination.

Planted 2 seeds in each pod using rockwool pods and a small seedling starter container under an inexpensive "grow light". Soaked the rockwool pods with my aquarium fish tank water and presto. Pics are 1 week later. Seeds arrived super fast and all packets were sealed and full of seeds.

Kale, whether you find it tasty or not, is one of the most nutritious, easy-to-grow plants around. Once it is past the tender stage, kale thrives in nearly any type of soil or weather conditions. Packaged well and the seeds look healthy, one is starting to open a bit, but we'll see. Even if half of them germinate I'm happy. This is for a hydroponic tabletop garden. so no complaints here.
