Nice and heavy mugs using them for a wedding shower and then bride to be can take them home.

The glass on these mugs is nice and thick. My glass mugs did not have sharp edges (previously noted). The handle opening is large and accommodates bigger hands. I am very pleased with these glass mugs. I would order them again. Additionally, we have run these through the dishwasher, heating liquids in the cup to boiling (from room temperature), and used/abused them for 2 months. They are holding up well.

I was looking askance at the bottoms of my various ceramic coffee mugs, noticing the crazing and the cracking and wondering, "I wonder what heavy metals in the clay are leaching through that cracked glaze and into my coffee?" With that worrisome thought in mind, I cast my gaze upon Amazon and, in due time, found this set of glass mugs that seemed to be just the thing. I don't really have a need for quite so many of these! But the bargain price for the bigger set swayed me, plus I figured that having some extras around would ease my worries about breakage, should I ever drop a mug or two (though these mugs are sturdy enough that breakage is by no means assured, should droppage occur). Though solid and sturdy, they're balanced nicely and heft comfortably. All in all I'm really happy with this purchase. A big success!

Libbey Robusta Glass Mugs are the closest I found on Amazon to French glass mugs. They have a greater capacity (13 oz instead of 8-10) and are sturdy and attractive. The handle is large enough to hold the cup comfortably. There is a nearly invisible seam on the body of the glass, and a more raised seam on the handle (in the photo, they are circled in red) but feels fine. I'm very happy with the purchase!

I was looking for something made of glass that could be used for coffee, and this is it! They are easy to clean - just throw in dishwasher. The glass is thick and retains the heat for about 15 minutes, and it is very high quality. Also, I think the design is classic and brings a little beauty to the everyday.

Wonderful quality very thick and sturdy

These are just what I was looking for. Some tea cups are too small, mugs are too big. These cups can accommodate just the perfect amount of liquid for both coffee or tea beautifully. They are heavy, feel very sturdy on the hand. Poured some boiling water into them and had no issues yet. I did run them under wam water first, because I was a bit apprehensive, but so far so good. Best price for the money too, trust me I did my homework.

Several years ago, I bought four open-stock clear glass mugs at World Market. I gave them to my brother as a part of a gift. Fast forward and one of his mugs had either broken or disappeared at the hands of his college roommates, and he mentioned liking the mugs but wanting a complete set. He hadn't been able to find them, and I couldn't either, so I came to Amazon, which is where I should have started in the first place. Ha! I quickly found these mugs, which were exactly what I was looking for. Somewhere, there were references to them being part of a "Crisa" line made in Mexico, and that people had bad luck with quality and breakage. I was a bit apprehensive, but figured why not? The box came, and the mugs were made in the USA. Awesome! I am a tea fiend, so tested a couple with boiling hot water and in the microwave, and have been using them for a few months with no problems. I've microwaved in them, and I've used hot water out of the dispenser. I don't put hot water into a frozen mug or try to stick a hot mug in the freezer, as that's a no-no with any glass product. As other reviewers have commented, there is a bit of a seam along the glass, but it's not too big (and all glass mugs have them.) Overall, I love the mugs and would recommend buying them to anyone--I decided to keep the first box and bought a second box to give to my brother!
