Hyperkin Controller Adapter for N64 Controller Compatible with Nintendo Switch/PC

It's simple. It works. I use mine with emulators like Project64 and it's 100% compatible and functional. I've had mine for 7 months with no problems. Pros: -inexpensive -feels solid, well built -simple -plug and play, no software to install Cons: -only accommodates one single controller (this is obvious, but I should point out the fact that this is only an adapter. It doesn't come with a controller)

It has one job and it definitely does it. I don't have a Switch so I can't test that part of the functionality, but this is perfect for PC play. Just make sure that you have the PC/Console switch set to correctly. One thing to keep in mind is that it's not going to work perfectly with RetroArch out of the box and can be a little tricky to set up. RA doesn't automap this adapter to make things simple, but that's no fault of the adapter. I use the standalone Project64 and had no issues getting both an original controller and a Retro Brawler working perfectly.

I used this on an original N64 controller and attached to a usb to usb c converter connected to my iPhone 16 using the Delta emulator and it works flawlessly, I was thinking with it being a phone emulator and using all the converters that it would lag or not input correctly however it runs just as it did in the old days. It’s so crazy playing Mario 64 on a phone bringing back old childhood memories. Great purchase!

I'd rate this a 0/5 if I could. 100% does not work with PC despite what any previous reviews would lead you to believe. The PC recognizes there's an adapter plugged in, but won't actually let you configure any of the controller buttons. Contacting their "customer service" was an absolutely joke. Asked for the serial number for my device then never followed up with me on a potential solution. Save yourself the money, avoid this product at all costs.

Not too bad of a purchase. I have noticed that sometimes the controller will randomly seem to disconnect from the PC. The controller is brand new so I'm not sure why this happens. It's also a bit pricier than other products similar to this online.

Finally.. been searching for a specific accessory FOR THIS VERY REASON. Using the classic original n64 for switch! Just for two games I was dying to play again. FORESAKEN 64 and Zelda ocarina of time. The search is ended. Thank you for that

Works great for use with existing N64 Controllers. Can use existing N64 Controllers using this adapter for Android Emulator software.

The Hyperkin adapter works perfectly in the latest version of Windows 10 (22H2, 64-bit). If you're on PC, make sure to set the switch on the Hyperkin adapter to "PC." Once you have the N64 controller and the adapter connected to the computer, you'll need to calibrate the controller's joystick or it may not work properly. Open the Control Panel and you'll see the Hyperkin adapter (no software installation needed). Right-click on the adapter icon and choose "Game controller settings." Click on "Hyperkin Adapter" and then on "properties." In the properties window that opens up, Click on the Settings tab and choose "Calibrate." Follow the prompts to calibrate the joystick - I used my palm to rotate the joystick fully clockwise a couple of times. It's important to note that you don't need to calibrate the "Z axis" or "Z Rotation" settings - they correlate to the yellow buttons on the controller. After calibrate is complete, click on "Apply" and you're done. Hopefully this post will help those that aren't familiar with setting up game controllers in Windows.

Extremely happy with this purchase! I wanted to play n64 games on my computer. I initially purchased one of those cheap third party n64 USB controllers that plugs directly into the computer.. that was a mistake. I ended up throwing it out because the analog stick was so cheap and made controlling characters impossible. Then I found this adapter! It lets you plug your actual Nintendo n64 controller in to use via usb. No fuss and super convenient. I wish I had just purchased this in the first place! It's awesome. Highly recommend this adapter. Great price too.

Works well! Tested directly to switch 1 dock, works fine. Tested using usb A to usb c adapter and then to switch 1 directly, works fine. Works with Switch 2 (with usb a to usb c adapter) directly into top usb port of switch 2!

Lo compré para poder usar mis controles de n64 originales en la pc. Al usarlo con Windows 10 lo reconoce inmediatamente sin instalar nada. Al entrar a ver las propiedades del mismo desde el panel de control los botones tienen una configuración un tanto extraña, pero que no afecta en lo más mínimo a la hora de jugar. Con el emulador PROJECT 64 la configuración es sencilla y bastante intuitiva. Con el emulador RETROARCH las cosas son algo tediosas, pero con calma se pueden solucionar. En primer lugar el programa no lo reconoce hasta que los configuras manualmente, para ello necesitas tu teclado y dar de alta cada botón. Posteriormente al usar CORES de Nintendo 64 te darás cuenta que no esta bien configurado. Con un poco de calma y paciencia puedes configurarlo correctamente y después de un rato tienes una grata experiencia. También puedes jugar otros CORES de Retroarch como de ARCADE o PSX con tu control de N64 sin problemas, siempre y cuando todo este bien configurado.
