The way that it aligned my posture and brought me into a position that is comfortable for working. None of the other similar products had an upper back cushion as well or the top strap to hold her up.. This is really helping to get my shoulders back. The cushion is such a nice spoungyness to lean back on and this completely rearranged my posture. You can adjust it higher or lower for your needs and no need to readjust it constantly from slipping around because the strap goes over the top as well as around the back and holds it in place. This product is well made, looks visually pleasing, seems it might be washable as it has some zippers on the cushions, is very functional and so I will also say that it's a good price for an item that's gonna save my back and help me get back to work so I'm not out of house and home soon. It installed quickly on my Hon Ignition Task Chair, Black , which while a supportive, comfortable office chair - isn't the best on my back for long computer sessions. Playing with the placement of the back support straps and then cinching them into position takes a little time, and with this chair the fit isn't ideal, but truly I think it can be adapted to fit most office chairs assuming they are not 'manager or executive' types with extra tall or wide backs. Very little info comes with this item, but the best fit is achieved by moving it around until you feel comfortable. For me, that means the top-center cushion sits between my shoulder blades, about at 'bra strap level'. (Sorry... not sure how to put that any other way!) The lumbar support placed right in the small of my back above my hips pretty much gives me a perfect fit. POINT TO CONSIDER BEFORE PURCHASING: I'm 5'6" and of average weight. I think this product would be a good one for most people 5'4" - 5'8", but taller or shorter folks may not find the fit to be as good. There is no way to increase or diminish the space between the two padded areas. The pads can be removed from each section of the back support, and the cover (with straps attached) can be hand washed or machine washed on low. I am pleased I decided to purchase this product for added comfort while spending extended hours at my desk. It provides me with support for a more comfortable spine alignment, which in turn removed the need for me to get a lift for my feet for proper ergonomics. Will it also work on a larger high backed office chair?** A: I’ve tried it on huge chairs on several different size chairs. Completely adjustable to fit the chair and where it needs to fall on you. **Q: What is the cover made of and is there any smell?** A: The cover is a nylon material that is stretchy. That padding feels like there's gel inside. Smell. Nothing gross. Does have a slight silicon smell (I assume from the gel inside of it). Been in our SUV for months now.... no weird smells or fading. Wife loves it. **Q: how deep is it** A: There are 4 separate 'pillows': the top triangular, a rectanglar one below, and a somewhat oval pillow on either side of the rectangle.Each is 2" deep. If your seat it deep and you are short, you will not find the Fellowes shortens the depth, however, since this was the predicament I was in, I placed a small foam pillow behind the Fellowes and it now 'sticks' out enough for me to provide support. **Q: would it work for airplane seats, like if the straps weren't used?** A: Hi Jean!
