We don't use the Sim card to view video because the quality isn't that great (pixelated images, glitches, delayed movement..etc.) and the location of the card slot is awkward and its hard to set the time/date. However, the movement of the LEDs help light areas at night when someone walks down our alley. The lights and movement are good deterrents, which is basically what we use the unit for now.
