I ordered 2 for my 75 gallon tank...great filtration..but 1 came defective..had to return for a replacement...overall a fantastic filter.

I've been using the Marineland Penguin Pro 375 filter for a few weeks now, and I'm thoroughly impressed with its performance. This filter has transformed my aquarium water quality, creating a pristine environment for my fish. Alternatively you can even out the water flow on both sides of the filter by slightly raising one of the rear filters allowing more water to pass through.

I bought the pro 125, and I’d say about 10 gallons is the minimum limit for this between the length of the intake piping and the adjustable flow - it can go as low as 12.5gph or something close to that, but even with silicone lubricant the biowheel won’t spin that low. I have it on an aqueon frameless 14 cube meant for some pea puffers, cories, and some (NOT long-finned) endlers, and it’s doing well so far. I filled the media basket with some seachem matrix and ceramic porous spheres found on Amazon (I’ll update with the name of those later), and replaced the carbon cartridge with 30 & 40 ppi filter sponge along with I believe 20 micron filter floss. So far, no complaints, after seeding with Stability and about 2 weeks of cycling the tank is running pretty well! I love how much you can adjust to your preferences with these pro filters, and if I didn’t have a canister on my 40 already I’d have seriously considered an emperor for it. Love the concept (and execution, so far) of the biowheel and I’m hoping to see further greatness as the tank matures. Update 6/4/21: a few days ago, the motor refused to come to life after unplugging for maintenance. I plugged it back in, and it didn’t even try to pump water. I thought this was due to an electrical/power issue, but then I opened up the impeller chamber to see if it was truly dead when I plugged it in. The impeller spun wildly back and forth, as if it had lost its timing with the motor. I’m not sure if this is due to not having any water in the chamber, or some other issue. Will be emailing marineland support to try and find a solution.

I bought this to upgrade from my old Penquin Power Filter. I've been using it for about a month now and overall, I'd say it's better than the old one. Firstly, it looks a whole lot better and the hinged lid is a plus. It's definitely more powerful. The suction and water circulation is noticeably more efficient and I like that the flow can be adjusted. The filter is now self priming (yay!) and the addition of a media basket is also a plus. The change in design also makes it easier to get to the impeller for cleaning and the intake now actually reaches the bottom of my tall tank. That being said, is it quieter like it claims? Not really. Actually, for the first few days it was much louder. Now that it's been running for a while, I would say the motor is slightly quieter, but it's a whole lot more 'splashy'. It also claims that this new design keeps the bio wheel turning. Nope, still randomly stops, you just can't see when it stops now because the lid is opaque black. You can tell when it stops because the splashy noise gets worse. Even so, it filters the tank much better than the old one, so overall, I'm happy.

I haven’t even plugged this in yet and I’m giving it two stars. It’s ridiculous how cheaply this is made. If this was some 1/2 priced knock off I could understand, but it’s the name brand product. The plastic is flimsy and the lid pops off half the time I open it. The inside fittings are not tight and solid, they are bent and just… cheap. On top of everything, it’s so wide it doesn’t fit a standard aquarium lid. I hope it works better than it looks or I’ll be coming back and giving it a one star review. (It works like it look, cheap. The housing for the submerged motor leaks. This means I’m losing water flow that is meant for filtration. How many gallons of filtration this is costing me an hour, I don’t know. Also, the spray bars don’t work. For the icing on the cake, the marineland glass top no longer fits because this marineland filter is too fat. This filter is probably the worst thing I’ve seen in the decades I’ve been fish keeping.)

This is definitely a nice upgrqde from the older penguin 350. Love the options for filter media. It is definitely whisper quiet and moves a lot of water, the only thing i noticed is that the bio wheels at least on the 375 model have a hard time spinning but it doesnt bother me because I use the fillable plastic media trays and i added some ceramic pre filter rings into the media basket in the center for more bacteria growth as well as ceramic rings to the fillable plastic trays i bought from my last filter. Fitting it into an acrylic tank isnt too easy cuz you have remove the motor to sit the unit in place then attatch the motor again. Overall fairly easy. The sponge at the intake i bought from aquarium co op i found it to be more coarse and it catches larger debris just fine. I also found the adjustment for water flow a big plus. Overall i am satisfied with this new version and highly suggest it. The options for the media you can place in here are large and one can easily customize this to suit whatever needs your fish may have. Now the only sound I really hear is from the air pump lol if i have any issues with this unit in the future i will update, i have had marineland filters for over 6 years and never had a problem. The older penguin 300 i removed went to my dads 60 gallon tank and is still running smooth.

I love this aquarium filter, work great for keeping your fish tank clean.

Pedí el filtro para 70 galones (375 gph) y me mandaron el de 50 galones (275 gph). Al parecer no es la primera ves así que mucho ojo cua el compren. Sin embargo el artículo está bastante bien y de calidad..muy bueno.

Fast shipping. Quiet. Took approximately 2 days of running and my tank water has never been this clear. Fish and frogs are happy and the live plants are loving the extra oxygen flow. Adjustable flow dial which is perfect and extra filter units. Note, I purchased filters with it which was good as it only came with the wheel and one square one. You can use two square. Which I did and wonderful output and clear water Highly recommend

I only have a 20G wide tank but this fits the lid perfect, turn it down to low so the bio wheel is still spinning. Perfect
